Spice Hut never disappoint, every time we went there, had great food and service. For South Asian cuisines, it is much challenging to keep the authentic flavour and taste but still they always provide the best food. Tonight we went for a valentine’s dinner and they surprised us with a cute Harshey’s Kisses candy so thoughtful and amazing food as always
Absolutely wonderful food and amazing service. Ample parking and great views. Ocean views across through the seating area and ocean view patio. Very friendly service and good atmosphere. Tried yellow lentils and Palak paneer dish with Naan. Will definitely visit again.
The food was good. We enjoyed every single dish there BUT the problem was there service, it was horrible. That girl was doing okay but she was about to end her shift and i think that makes her feel less interested. We had to ask for napkins for like more than 6 times and she gave it after the payment. They need to work on customer service a little more.
I was upset with service today. I ordered Tandoori Prawns & my dish was served to another table. The Server walked away for about 3-4 minutes & my dish sat on their table. She went back to retrieve dish after other person complained it was the wrong dish She then took dish back to kitchen & within minutes served me that same dish. My spouse caught it & confronted her politely. I told her dish was cold. She confirmed that it was in fact the same dish from the other table & said that she will have it remade.I have never been to a restaurant where this is acceptable. Literally 4 mins later she returned with a new plate & said it was made fresh. I was suspicious that it was the same one re-plated & microwaved. The new Prawns were rubbery & terrible. It wasn’t even busy. This use to be my favourite dish. Really disappointed at the serious lack of food safety/risk this evening Not sure I can trust chef/server again. It’s really unfortunate because my experience has always been very positive. Being New Years Eve I paid, tipped 15% & walked away dissatisfied. I hope this was an isolated incident.
Valentine's Day, figured they'd be busy so put my takeout order in at 1pm for 6:45 pickup: 1 mild spice butter chicken for the children to split and 1 medium spice for my daughter and I., couple naans and rice. Simple, right? My order wasn't ready til 7:15 and they mixed up the marked lids on the containers. Kids don't eat spicy, but the adults do... that's why they should mark the lids accordingly. Spice Hut had one job, and they blew it!
Terrible service, i ordered a biryani combo and I couldnt eat it all so i asked for a take out container, i waited 15 minutes the lady didnt bring it, two of the servers keep coming at my table but tottaly ignored me or asked if you need something. I went to counter to asked again but they ignored completely again. I felt very bad and thought to ask someone atleast if i have any dues because i paid the bill at first. I literraly chased the old lady to ask if i have any dues and she said no you are good to go. I ate 1/4 of the portion and the leftover was untouched by my hand, i hope they gave the food to someone in need who just are hungry. Will no go here ever again if this continue, please respect others time.
Best Indian Restaurant on Vancouver Island. Must try lamb masala & karahi paneer. They also have good spice hut combo specials.
Came from the mainland to stay in Ladysmith for a few nights, gave this place a shot and I am definitely not disappointed, the portions are great, the food is top shelf, a lot better then the million Indian places on the mainland, you can tell the chefs take pride in their recipes, asked for spicy and it was actually spicy, the servers are very good at their jobs as well, overall a very well run restaurant with excellent service and excellent food. Keep up the good work!
One of the best Indian foods we've had and it's been awhile since moving to the Island. Service was great and the food was amazing. Lots of vegetarian options. Well definitely be coming back. Vegetarian options: Great list of vegetarian options
Spice Hut is seriously good Indian food. We’re a couple of Vancouver expats who were searching for great Indian. We’ve since returned twice. Fantastic!
