Story

Southwest Hills is a church family that:
• teaches the Bible,
• builds mature disciples,
• specializes in family ministry,
• emphasizes world missions,
• organizes in small groups,
• believes in lay ministry,
• reaches out to lost people.

We are Redeemed to glorify the Father, Commissioned to reveal the Son, Empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Whether it's fewer than 70 in our intimate Saturday night service or about 200 in each of our two Sunday morning services, we offer a variety of ministries that build disciples and impact the world. Yet we are small enough that almost all visitors are greeted warmly, people are known by name, hurting people are helped, missing people are missed, and everyone is prayed for individually at least twice a month by our leadership.

Come get to know us by worshiping with us. Services are Saturday night at 6:30PM or Sunday morning at 9:00 or 10:45AM. We hope to see you this weekend!

For me, Southwest Hills Baptist Church has been the place of worship, biblical wisdom, and people who make genuine efforts to follow the Lord's teachings. If you are spiritually anorexic, thirsty for the truth, and wonder about Jesus, this is the place to start and end up loving Jesus and the people. The church will embrace you with humble smiles, passionate teachings, and genuine love. That's what I've experienced.
I have attended SWHBC since I was a youth and have found it to be a wonderful place of community. I appreciate the many ministries the church offers including engaging kids programs. The church is dedicated to presenting biblical truth in love and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to everyone we can.
Over 20 years ago, my husband and I were looking for a church that had wise and mature leadership in their youth ministry and Sunday morning teaching directly from the Bible. We found that and so much more as we became part of the church family at SWHills! The pastors and church leadership have over the years so impressed me by their love for the the Lord, the scriptures, their integrity, humility and genuine Christian love. SWHills continues to be a great place to belong, to grow spiritually, serve and be encouraged to live a life of faith in all of life.
Our family is so thankful to be a part of this church. We hear and see the message of Jesus lived out in the lives of the people in the church. It is the best we’ve seen of a Christ-like community in the teaching and relationships through the years.
As military brats, everything in our lives has been transitory. Changing churches regularly was just another habit. SWH was an unexpected anchor. ‘Never thought we’d be here this long, but this community is life affirming: Christ is eminent, His words are examined and established as indelible fog lines, brotherly love is ubiquitous, and, as a bonus, this humble place has been a magnet for brilliant minds!
