Annual Blues and Jazz Festival held in Port Credit Memorial Park. Great bands to dance with, party, party, party is the name of the game here. Downchild Blues show up annually. Paid event. *****
Same as previous review, Kim Mitchell was great but the Brightwater Mainstage venue was a disaster. Standing back, I could see that roughly 1/3 of the existing park space for the mainstage audience was being used with two covered tents sponsorships on each side compressing the walk-in public and mixing board crew in the middle. Being walk-in audience with chairs to sit on, we couldn't see the stage or the screens for the tents, their bright colored lights and for the constant stream of people leaving / returning to their seats as the only path of travel was right up the middle of the compressed audience. At past Shuffles, we had wide open spaces where the stage and screens could be seen and the path of travel was much easier. Organizers, if you want sell sponsorship tables in tents, consider installing digital screens in the tents so they can be located away from the main stage to adequately share the space with the seated grass audience. Also, I didn't hear one announcement informing the audience of where the emergency exits were. If something did happen last night, there would have been a stampede of people rushing up the compressed middle to evacuate. I wouldn't have wanted my corporate name to be associated with that venue last night.
Kim Mitchell was amazing tonight! Love him! HOWEVER, the way the venue set up tents to block the view of the stage was completely absurd.
One of the if not THE best festivals in Canada!!
