Southshore is currently the largest event space in Barrie if you require a special occasion party venue that allows outside food catering. Its location by the waterfront is amazing. But the interiors are out dated and in desperate need of a complete revitalization and modernization job for sure.
Very nice venue overlooking the Barrie waterfront. Accommodates 250 people well. Clean premises. Lots of parking.
Beautiful space, right on the lakeshore with gorgeous views. Large kitchen space for food prep, bar area as well.nDrawback is people walking into the space to use bathrooms and just wandering around.
It's a historic site. The building was built in 1903-4 as the Master Mechanic and Stores Department office and supplies for the Grand Trunk Railway. It is the only rail equipment servicing building remaining on the waterfront. Its location is a focal point on the south shore of Kempenfelt Bay. It's called Southshore Community Centre now. It contains a information Center, public washroom and a event hall. There is a metered parking lot. It's free to local people.
