Southgate Animal Hospital is a CVO-accredited veterinary practise with personal service in a newly renovated facility in Guelph’s south end. Our hospital has integrated a high standard of medicine and contemporary equipment with customized recommendations to provide your family with a dependable partner in your pets’ care. Both our doctors are Acupuncture certified and offer this service on a daily basis.

I want to review Southgate Animal Hospital. I was so impressed at the compassion and dedication the staff, especially Dr. Barb Deter had with my dog. A year and a half ago, a friend recommended them for my sick dog. Barb was just arriving to work and she helped me bring my dog in and accessed her, didn't judge me and took great care of her. Within two weeks, I had my dog back to a normal state. She didn't charge me for services my dog didn't require and didn't doubt my decision to pursue further care. Unfortunately, recently, I had to put my dog down. Barb was extremely caring and explained everything to us. She came down to us and my dog, she talked to my dog and pet her, and made her as comfortable as she could. Today I received a sympathy card from Southgate Animal Hospital, with a note and hand signed with all the staff's names. My dog was my baby girl and Barb and her staff, showed the care and concern and compassion, anyone would want when dealing with a family member. I would HIGHLY recommend you leaving your pet in their care. Thank you so much Barb

Knowledgeable vets who truly care for the animals they treat. Comparably priced and they do not try to upsell diagnostic services. Desk staff and vet techs are also lovely. We purchase our dog food here and find their prices are less than other clinics in the South End of Guelph.

Dr. Barb is wonderful and I highly recommend this vet. She is friendly, open, honest, and caring. The whole staff is terrific and coming in for an appointment is enjoyable.
