After suffering over 20 years with a supposed back sprain (Washington WC) Dr. Adcox correctly identified my low spine as fused from a previous injury. PT, lumbar injections have helped significantly. We are fortunate to have him here in Homer. he has helped many of my friends too. Bravo!

I had slipped off a tractor in a rain storm onto the drawbar of our spreader on my fathers horse farm. I was 17 years old, unable to bend for nearly three months or sit in my classes at school. In time and after a few years of high school sports I felt not too bad...then a car wreck in 1992 this time almost a year to recoup. I was told that after the wreck I needed to get L4 and L5 fused my response was No Chance! This year I strained my back working, the shooting electrical pain stayed in my left leg. Sitting was very painful. I was scheduled for an MRI. It had been recommended by many friends to "take a hot shower and some ibuprofen and eventually it would slip back into place while you are sleeping". After Dr. Adcox showed me the MRI immages I knew that the recomdations from my well meaning friends could never help my situation, not ever. I was offered a number of options and chose surgery. The day before my scheduled fusion surgery I watched some people discussing their post surgery experiences on YouTube ... I called the office with the intent to cancel! I had some concerns answered by the staff and some reassurance. I proceeded with the scheduled surgery. All I can say is that about an hour after recovery I was walking the halls of the hospital. I was able to stand up straight without pain in my back. The electricity shooting down my leg was gone as well. It has been thirteen days since surgery now. I had some pain mostly muscle cramping but have been taking my meds as prescribed and keep ahead of the pain. Over the last few days I have had little discomfort and returned the walker that was loaned to me prior to my surgery. In my past I did not opt for surgery and lived with the problem for almost 35 years. I just did not feel confident with surgical successes for this type of injury. I look forward to returning to construction work in the spring. I am most thankful to Dr. Adcox and his team for the changes this has already made in my life! No Regrets! May God bless you! - Sincerly, Mark A. Carter 11/4/2013

He was not in hurry to prescribe surgery for my problem. We tried other options first and I never felt forced into anything. He is very caring and good at what he does. His staff is awesome as well.
