South Pacific Chinese Restaurant

Its been famous for their hong kong style egg rolls for probably 50+ years. Since it's been under new owners the egg rolls and their homemade plum sauce are still really very good, just a bit smaller but the best time to get them is when they're not very busy so they don't get over cooked and a bit greasy. But when they do it right I have to say they're actually better then the originals very light and crispy wrapper with the same old delicious filling! 4 for $6.78

Wish I would have read the reviews before I drove all the way from Dundas to get them. They "used" to be so good when South China on Main St W. Was South Pacific so I was hoping they were the same. Don't let the look fool you, they are not good. Full of carrots and that's it. Not impressed and will NOT be back. Not to mention, their back door was left open and you could see a tote full of chicken sitting out in the open. Gross!!!

We got chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli, shanghai noodles and chicken balls. It was OK, the chicken balls seemed reheated and weren't fresh. The other dishes were fine but nothing to write home about. If you have a craving for Chinese food this may hit the spot.

Honestly, I dont know how the last reviews were bad. We ordered Friday night, only took about 20 mins. When I went to pick up, the lady was so friendly & nice. The food was super fresh when we got home. We got a feast for 4 and it easily had given us leftovers. I paid $31 and Im just super impressed with the quality

The dishes were stale tasting. Chicken fried rice, which is a cornerstone dish, was tasteless and bland. I could understand maybe one dish not being up to par, but they were all very poor. Even the egg rolls were tough, not crispy and pasty inside with a strange orange color. We simply tossed out the garlic ribs. It tasted like some of our order had been precooked long before or had been put under a heat lamp because it was rejected. Our regular place, South Sea, was too busy so we thought we'd try here. The only good thing is that they delivered quickly... too quickly!

Its all dry the only way the food could get better is if Gordon Ramsey restarted the "kitchen nightmares" I would rather go into Chinese water torture then eat this Chinese food torture

Food is good. But less beef in Beef and Brockly. Need reconsideration over the value of meal to quantity you get. Overall Nice food.

Everything tasted off.... coming from a long time South Sea customer we were not impressed at all with tonight's food. The Sunday honey garlic beef did not taste of either honey or garlic and the texture was wet but dry. The egg roll was unconventional which wasn't a horrible thing but I was the only one who ate the whole thing The BBQ pork chop suey was gray and lifeless... my wife called it chop pooey... The veggie lo mien was off... I can't explain how but it wasn't delicious The chicken balls were delightful but the sweet and sour sauce that they came with was not sweet or sour... it was bland and watery. The hunt continues for our new Chinese place... joy inn... great wall... who's your go to

Your average Chinese restaurant . Pretty fair prices, I cannot rave about something specific as I truly found the Toronto store on Dovercourt rd so much better. Fair service and quick delivery.
