Located on the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Reserve, South Beach Casino & Resort began operations on May 28, 2005 and is owned by Black River, Bloodvein, Brokenhead, Hollow Water, Little Grand Rapids, Pauingassi, and Poplar River First Nations.

Story

The 40,000+ square foot casino is entirely smoke free and offers 600 slot machines, Blackjack tables and other exciting table games to choose from.

The entire Resort is fashioned in an Art-deco design and tropical atmosphere. The hotel has 10 Grand suites, 5 Junior suites, 8 Luxury guest rooms and 70 deluxe guestroom accommodations. The tropical pool with cascading waterfall is a hot spot for intimate events and functions. The Grand Ballroom provides accommodation for up to 500 guests. The 7000 square foot facility has a 2000 square foot pre-function area and dividable 5000 square foot function space.

Mango’s Restaurant offers an buffet extravaganza everyday, Surf & Turf on Thursday nights, Certified Angus Beef Prime Rib Buffets on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Blue Dolphin Lounge features free live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.

Great place to stay fir a weekend. This place offers a wonderful buffet, for breakfast, lunch and supper, the selections are great and themed fir special occsssions or holidays. The rooms offer special themes too. And for the people who are tried of spending there money they have a wonderful pool and spa area to enjoy. Great little get away.

South beach is a great facility. From the moment you enter you're treated well by the staff. The food at the buffet is great, with a lot of choices and a very reasonable price. Many great games to choose from, it is a larger facility than you'd expect. They bring in some awesome bands and the lounge can fill up. I saw a classic rock band in August, and a more old time country western band in Sept (the lounge was full for that one). One thing I'd say would improve the experience would be if the sight lines were improved in the lounge, as some tables it is hard to see the band and dance floor because of the layout. I'd go back any day!

This is a great place to just get away for a night and it is close enough to Winnipeg. My wife and I came here for our wedding night and also a year later for our anniversary. Everything was great right from the staff to the room. The only complaint I have this time is they gave us a room with an older bed and it's not as plush as the other times

I was first impressed by the Art Deco of the building, their lobby's decor, and cleanliness of South Beach Casino and Hotel. The bar food was better than expected but cannot bring food on to the gaming floor. Very inconvenient, unheard of elsewhere. Bar food ends about 12:30 a.m. AND room service ends at midnight! Yes, there are cafe goodies available 24/7 in the lobby but no one told us about the pool. Most staff are friendly but some promotions are vague and complicated. Names on vouchers; why not $3 off this and that and be done with it?! We came when the restaurant was under renovations so missed out on the seafood buffet. Overall I am on the border about recommending a return here. :P

Good stuff. Fast friendly service from waitresses and staff. Liked this place 100 percent. I'm just doing dis for the Google opinion awards I have not not not been here ever in my life.
