My daughters both had gift cards to Sonic, so we decided to use them on our way home from errands. We pulled in to a stop at 6:38pm and started placing our order. When we tried ordering ice cream, we were told we couldn’t because they were cleaning the machines for the night. They don’t close until 11:00pm, so we thought it was odd they’d quit serving ice cream so early. It almost seemed like they just didn’t want to and used that as an excuse. The person taking our order didn’t seem the happiest. We placed our order which consisted of 8 items. I had read a lot of bad reviews about the wait time, so we were prepared to wait. We watched the screen next to us which gave updates on our order. About 20-30 minutes later the screen said Zachary was bringing out our order. He walked it right up to the driver’s side and was so nice. He had a very different demeanor than whoever had taken our order. The BBQ Chip Seasoned Tots were SO GOOD! I want more!!! Please make those permanent on the menu! The Buffalo Sauced Jumbo Chicken was pretty good too…and the large was decently proportioned. I’d get the jumbo chicken again, but probably plain and I’ll use some dipping sauce at home. My daughter and husband didn’t really like the burgers. One got the SuperSONIC Bacon Double Cheeseburger and the other got a Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger. The Quarter Pound was a pretty sad looking burger and now I know why it’s only $2-$3. The Ched ‘R’ Peppers were delicious, but you only get 4 of them. The cheese fries were a little sad looking, but my youngest enjoyed them. I won’t go out of my way to go to Sonic again, but if my kids happen to get gift cards again, I’ll definitely get more tots, popcorn chicken, and hopefully some ice cream.
My husband and i went to the Layton, Utah Sonic for dinner. I love Sonic but not this one. Twice i have ordered a Sonic Blizzard with Oreo Cookies. Both times the bottom halve is chocolate ice cream then the top half is vanilla with one cookie. Then i ordered their Double Grill Cheese Burger. It's suppose to have 3 slices of cheese and 2 meat patties but not the one i got it only had 1 slice of cheese and the patties are so small. The girl at the drive thru was more interested in being cute for the guys then serving the food. If you want your order done right don't go here. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN.
Sonic has a HUGE drink menu, plus you can make your own unique drinks too. I love their footlong chili cheese coney's with tots. They also have delicious hamburgers and onion rings. Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu. Parking: Plenty of parking.
I ordered from the app and got three Grilled Cheese Double Burger, two lg tator tots, a shake and a slush. The tots, shake and slush were fine, but the sandwhiches.....Let's go over that shall we. First there was no Texas Toast, it was regular bread. There is supposed to be three pieces of cheese, but there was only cheese on each bread none in between the meat. There was supposed to be onions but got none. The ketchup and mustard were non-existent. So overall this sandwich is officially the worst sandwich I ever had. The only reason why this got a one star is because I couldn't give it none
Sadly this store has gone extremely down hill lately. I try to be very sympathetic towards short staffing but recently waited for over 50min for my order and ultimately never received it. I asked the staff 2x about my order to get the “we are short staffed” I could see my order had been sitting ready to just be handed to me for over 15min. This is 100% a franchise owner problem. If you pay a solid wage, you will get good work. Majority of us consumers are willing to pay more for better service. This is why fast food places like CFA, 5 guys, etc… never seem to have staffing issues. I ended up calling Sonic corporate and was told that the franchise owner would reach out to me, this never happened. I had to call corporate back to get a refund on my original order.
I usually love sonic. It is one of my favorite burger places. This last time I went though at the Layton location was a huge disappointment. The customer service was horrible. The girl interrupted me constantly while I was trying to order and acted like I was a huge inconvenience to her. Then my food wasn't even right. I know it's fast good and all, but there should be some standards for customer service.
Every time I go here they tell me they can’t sell me ice cream even though they don’t close for another hour because they’ve already cleaned the machine. I get being shortstaffed I get having to wait wouldn’t be a problem but they refuse to even sell stuff they offer Because they don’t want to do the work. You’re such a joke! This is also not a one time thing - this is happened to me about three times in the past month pretty much anytime after 8 o’clock if you go to sonic they don’t make half their menu. don’t waste your time and don’t go there. I for sure won’t be back!
Worst Sonic ever!!!!! And I used to love Sonics in Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri! Just not Layton, Utah. Long wait times, horrible food. Tonight my burger was sad. It had a flat bun, the burger was literally the size of a half dollar; the two pickles were bigger, It was burnt. I showed the manager and just got a lame “sorry” And the Coke tasted like medicine. Hopefully I will get my money back. Another customer said he had waited over an hour for his meal and also wanted his money back. Very dissatisfied former customer
I am very displeased with this location. I showed up just before 6:30 and about 5 minutes later I hit the red button to order. I waited 10 minutes with no response. I thought about doing the drive through but by this point the line had gotten long. So I decides to order online. Places my order by 6:56 and finally it arrived to me by 7:20. I get the food and I had five drinks and I wasn't given a cup holder. Then none of the shakes had wiped cream or cherries, my kids were upset they also got my kids order wrong. I understand that it gets busy but this was very annoying.
This store if freaking ridiculous. They deserve NO stars. I was waiting in the drive thru for over 40 minutes and of course, I drove away from the window to find out they messed up my order. Then I had to park in one of the stalls to talk to someone and it still took them forever to talk to someone. Finally had to get out of my car to actually get in touch with an actual person. This place is a JOKE. I will never come here again. Waiting for food for over an hour is freaking ridiculous.
