We went to the Sockeye Annual Anniversary Car Show. The cars were beautiful and then we ate at Sockeye. The food was good and the service too. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. My hubby enjoyed his pub burger and fries. I had a sandwich just like a French dip with salad, both were excellent. We will absolutely come back. It was a great afternoon.
You cannot go wrong with Sockeye Brewing. I’ve now eaten here five times and loved every single second and bite of my food and drinks! They definitely know how to provide both quality and quantity. On my latest visit I helped myself to the Smoked Brisket Grilled Cheese sliced smoked brisket topped with spinach, sautéed mushroom, Gouda, and cheddar cheese and their Woolybugger Wheat stone ground mustard aioli on grilled sourdough, $13.50 with a side of fries. This ginormous sandwich is heavenly. The brisket was cooked to damn perfection and the aioli was top notch. There was plenty of meat and cheese. It was SO FREAKIN’ GOOD. I would 10/10 order it again! My husband chowed down on the Bronco Burger 6 oz all natural chuck patty served on a brioche bun and smothered in Power House Porter barbecue sauce, topped with cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, onion straws, lettuce, tomato and red onion, $13.00 with a side of fries. Again, it was huge! And beautifully presented, although it was a piece of work to eat so beware! But it’s worth the mess. I shared a couple bites and agreed it was a great damn burger. I really don’t remember what we got for drinks…smh. We sat outdoors which I highly recommend especially when it’s nice out. Overall, great food for a steal total bill came to less than $60.00 and that was with 2 drinks each + tip that are generous portions!
Okay, best nachos I’ve had in a long time! They make sure every chip is covered & they are piled high. All 3 of us couldn’t finish them. We grabbed two pretzels as well. The cheesy sauce for the pretzels is the best around! The pretzels tasted very fresh too, not something you’d get from the store. Staff was great! Clam chowder was good too! Can’t wait to try out more things here.
Very spacious! More restaurant style. Large beer variety. This included two nitro beer options! Food took a little longer than expected, but we enjoyed our beers while ea waited. Outside of downtown boise. Parking lot with lots of parking.
Great atmosphere, huge timbers, lots of medals, and of course tasty beers! Love the outdoor seating as well. Worth noting is that cell service is not so good there not their fault but they do have wifi and that is appreciated.
Sockeye Brewing On 9/24/21, KM and I had a late lunch at Sockeye in Boise. I had an amazing Reuben sandwich $13.50, one of the best I’ve had in ages. It was a classic version and everything about it was perfection. KM had the Halibut Fish & Chips, a special that is only available on Fridays. I didn’t try the fish and chips, but I did try the tartar sauce. One of the things it was notable about it was that it was a true savory tartar sauce, instead of the overly sweet ones that most restaurants tend to put out. The fish and chips were excellent! The service was outstanding! Highly Recommended!!!
Atmosphere is nice and enjoyed sitting on the patio. Server was nice and area was clean. Food came out in a timely fashion. My wife ordered the brisket mac & cheese w/ fries and it was very good. I ordered the Trout Fillet can't go to a place called Sockeye and not try the fish! and was not impressed with the dish at all. The presentation alone was like "hmmm". The trout was overcooked, the pecan or whatever sauce looked like watery gravy had zero flavor, the "seasonal vegetables" looked like they came out of their stir-fry dish/maybe frozen how hard it is to do a nice broccolini and sautéed carrots? and a plop of mashed potatoes that looked like something from KFC -- for $21? The first photo is from Yard House 1 day later. This is how you do this dish!! Compare it to Sockeye in the second photo. We'll definitely give the place another go, but I'll be ordering something else.
The service and food at this place are exceptional. We had a large group of about 15 people, and the waitress still remembered every drink and food order that was placed. She earned every bit of her tip. The fish is quite good, as were the finger steaks. I ordered sweet potato fries for the first time, and I am not a sweet potato fan, but I can't lie, they were very good.
Good service! Nice people. Mediocre burger. Good chicken sandwich. Kids sliders plate is good. Place was weirdly cold like AC breeze. Vegetable medley was get this 3 carrots. They should rename the side "3 grilled carrots" so that people don't expect a medley which by definition means more than one thing. Overall got some work to do here.
Our office ordered a large pick up order. I got the fajita salad. I was so impressed that they separated the meat and grilled veggies from the lettuce so that the lettuce wasn't wilted. The salad was delicious and I appreciated that they took the time to keep those separated! Nice job Sockeye
