Had the beef brisket with two sides; potatoes and beans and it was delicious. Tasted like a home cooked meal. Great indoor and outdoor seating.
Found this GEM on our way to a wedding. We did a U-turn to get to Smokey's and it was worth it. Meats were tender had brisket and pulled pork dinner as well as sandwiches sides were yummy. We definatly recommend and would stop again.
Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Cute place! Ordered brisket and all sides. Everything was VERY good! Excellent! All homemade taste and generous portions. Four sauces to choose from. We will be back. We are foodies. Yum yum yum!
Some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. The brisket was dry like jerky and the pork wasn't any better. The potato salad was like carryout from a grocery store deli cabinet. Definitely would not recommend it or eat there again.
Best bbq around!! Lovely little family owned resturant on 20, can order out or dine in, cozy campy atmosphere inside, staff is always smiling and pleasant, food always amazing even when picked up and drove almost 20 minutes home lol. Used them for open houses and weddings a few times, sell sandwiches and meat by the pound as well plus some amazing sides! Parking: Limited spots off a busy road with 55mph speed limits so careful with young ones when there
This place is most excellent ... I had the brisket dinner ... great food at a great price ... the weather was good so we ate outside ... the only caveat is this is a cash only establishment ... I can recommend the parsley potatoes - delish
Good food. But being from out of town and stumbling into it, the cash only policy was concerning. Thank God I had some cash on me. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had a sale.
We stopped in on our way home from the Dunes. A small place that offers amazing BBQ. We bought a pound of pulled pork and a slab of baby back ribs...DELICIOUS! Smokey's has a sauce for everyone too. My husband loves the sweet sauce and I loved the hot sauce. A great place, we will definitely be back.
I just ate at this place about two minutes ago took a bite of my sandwich on the side of the road no way I can finish it I'll probably eat off of this for the rest of the day but I had to call him and do this review to let them know that I will definitely be back!!! The funny thing about this I didn't pass this place for the last almost 10 years with my job and never stopped and always said I was going to stop but I'm glad today that I finally did because I'm going to be a regular whenever I have to come out to Michigan City I stay in the Chicagoland area my job
The best barbecue I have had. Period! I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. Delicious!! The lady who was working the place was extremely friendly and let me eat outside with my dog. Make sure to have cash though since it's a cash only restaurant. Give them a try!
