The Hubby had a craving for fries and so as a treat for him I ordered the WOW Classic Poutine. What we got was a box of overcooked, nearly burned, broken and hard bits and pieces. They were inedible as they tasted even worse than they looked. To be honest I've seen cedar chips that look more appetizing : The super size to split between two was over 20 bucks plus delivery fees etc. Straight into the garbage and we'll never order from them again. That never should have made it out of the kitchen. Ruined a fry craving : Really disappointed. We order from a few favorites weekly and thought I'd try Smoke's as it had been over a year since the last time we ordered wasn't great then either sadly but gave em another chance.
This is a great smoked meat in Kingston. So tasty with a reasonable price. The fries was soooo good.
It was my last day I was able to eat in Canada on my couple weeks long trip before I departed back to Miami, FL so of course I was on the search for some poutine. An easy walk down Queen Street, it wasn't at all hard to find and was pretty empty except for another customer. My boyfriend and I shared the triple pork poutine which included the chipotle pulled pork, double-smoked bacon, and italian sausage. We did have to wait a good ten to fifteen minutes for the food which I did think was a little slow since there was no one else in the shop but all in all it was a decent serving, tasty, and affordably price. I wouldn't say it was the best poutine I've ever had but I did love the fact that you could get any type of poutine you could think of! IG: @KFitzEats
Great staff and management! I had ordered a poutine which had deep fried cheese curds. The taste didn't seem right, almost as if the cheese was just additional french fries. I had originally thought that they had made a mistake, but the manager explained which parts were the cheese curds. Despite the fact that it was my error, the manager was more than happy to give me a free teen on the house. Even offered me a free drink. Definitely earn my loyalty with his help.
Dont eat here i swear its like eating air. No taste whats so ever so rubbery the chicken cheese disgusting. Drive to halifax eat at there smokes poutine would be better. Corporate should shut this place down.
Went on a whim since we were passing by. The staff were polite and helpful, and the wait wasn't too long for the poutines we ordered. Both were delicious and we will probably go back to smokes next time we go for poutine.
I come here whenever the budget permits. The staff are always absloutly fantastic and I have never had a bad experience in store. That being said recently it seems they give less and less curd and every single employee has asked me if I wanted to pay for extra curd in the exact same way so it's obvious that they've been instructed to do it exactly like that.
The large poutine is like 5 pounds of fries with a few curds and a spoonful of gravy thrown on top. After the first two forkfuls, you are essentially just eating mediocre fries. If you want really overpriced fries then this is the place to go. If you want half way decent fast food poutine at a reasonable price, check out Harvey's.
I use to enjoy the poutines from Smokes, especially since I can get a veggie based one. But lately the quality of their poutines are declining. We just ordered through Door Dash and the order was wrong, again. My girlfriend asked for peas on her Tater Tot poutine but got green onion instead, even though she said no onion. My poutine was nothing but a soggy mess. The fries were way undercooked and the gravy was watery. Obviously the person making it did not truly know how to prepare this properly. Very dissatisfied honestly as their poutines are very expensive. For the high price you would think the food would be of better quality.
Giving them one start would be too much. I ordered poutine last night and it was very disappointing. Barely any cheese curds or gravy and the fries were horrible. They were cooked horrible and had no crisp what so ever. For a poutine store it was so bad. Safe to i wont be coming back!
