Best Breakfast in town. Had French toast and Pancakes. But always go for a Poutine extra for hash browns. It was different but coffee with French vanilla Syrup. Wohooo.
Smitty's has a menu with a wide variety of food items to choose from.....something for everyone. Staff are very friendly and quick to help their customers with what they need. It's a restaurant that is not strictly for breakfast. They offer much more & it's one of my favorite places to go to especially when I have a craving for something delicious to eat. Bring your whole family as they offer a kids' menu as well. I haven't ever been disappointed with the variety of dishes I've ordered. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I stopped at this restaurant as a recommendation from a nurse at the hospital in Truro. It was exceptional! Service was great and food was delicious! I had citrus chicken breast with mashed potatoes. Extremely juice chicken and the flavour was perfect! Price was very good, in terms of the quality of the food. Thanks for a great experience
Food was fast, but I could tell it had stayed under a heat lamp for some time. Pancakes were warm on the outside but cool inside. The server was a little slow on following up, missed sides, and had trouble getting his attention about them, so I went without. Great atmosphere, very welcoming a warm. Was seated right away, and drink orders were fast and correct for the most part. I would prefer to have a small glass of milk on the side for my coffee as I do use a lot of milk, as well as my mother, but they brought out the little individual cups - having to ask for more 3 different times. Would go back, but wouldn't make it a to-do spot. Would probably shop around for another breakfast restaurant in the area. Vegetarian options: Clearly marked on the menu Kid-friendliness: Available options for kids, and things to entertain while waiting on food- maps an puzzles on placemats. Parking: Depending on time of day, parking is relatively easy. During peak times- first think inthe morning and lunch time, parking can be more crowded, and there are line ups to be seated. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps available, and specific tables are set up for wheelchair access. Dietary restrictions: My Mom is doing Keto, so she is not eating anything with carbs. Waiter was willing to give her substitutes at no extra charge to replace things like toast and hash browns.
Where to begin, I normally refrain from doing reviews when it's not great but this place was 100% a disappointment. I ordered a mimosa, not sure what they used, but it definitely didn't taste like champagne and it wasn't remotely bubbly. Now for the Eggs Benedict-Florintine, not that I am a connoisseur of hollandaise sauce but it was downright terrible. It was bland, a little chunky and too thick. Eggs were overcooked, no spinach but a supposed tomato jam which was just plain not good. Now my pan fries I thought for sure would be spot on but that was a failure too. If only they were cooked for maybe 2 more minutes so they weren't partially undercooked. I ended up sending it back, which has only happened one other time in my life. The waiter said he would see what he could do to 'help us out' which consisted of removing the 2 coffee's we had at a cost of 6.00. Now since I can only review my own meal, my partners was equally as bad. With a small tip it was still almost 60.00 for 2 people. Extremely overpriced, food was horrible but the service was quick. Not personable and cheery, just quick. Maybe my expectations are too high, and they had an off day. Either way
Don't expect to get homemade pie for dessert it is just a frozen coconut cream McCains pie unthawed, food is way overpriced, the only thing it has going for it is pleasant waitresses.
A little pricey for breakfast but service was pleasant. The place was busy, and they seemed short staffed but no one was neglected and they kept tables moving. The menu options are plentiful with many offerings you don't see on other menus. Portion sizes were generous. Would visit here again.
Very disappointed when we came in from out of town to go to this establishment for breakfast. We walked through the door and immediately told that there was no tables available because they have a large reservation booking over half of the restaurant. And to wait for one that wasn’t reserved would be a long time as they only a few that we’re not reserved by this “large group”. We left without breakfast and a kid that was disappointed as he was excited to have a smithy’s breakfast. Bad business plan for a Saturday morning. May as well closed the restaurant for private event.
The food is already overpriced, but I ordered a bacon Denver omelet with pancakes today and they couldn't even be bothered to actually give me pancakes. Forgetting something small is one thing, but not even being able to give me half my order is ridiculous. It's the last time they'll be getting any money out of me.
Very fast service, order was 100% correct. Prices aren't ridiculous and the waitresses check on you frequently! Awesome experience.
