The Smithers Art Gallery is a non-profit organisation at the heart of the local visual arts community
Smithers Art Gallery is a non-profit community gallery at the heart of the visual arts scene and has been in operation since 1971.
We exhibit artwork by local, regional and provincial artists in shows that change over every 5 weeks, and hold at least one community exhibition a year which is open to everyone to participate in. The Gallery holds regular free artists' talks and demonstrations, and a free opening reception on the first Friday of each new exhibition.
We offer a range of affordable educational art programming for all ages, including art camps and free art activities for kids in the summer, beginner-level workshops for adults and older youth, and advanced-level workshops for experienced artists.
We also hold cultural fundraising events for the community, including: the 6x6 Auction, Wintergold Arts & Crafts Fair, and One of a Kind Artisan Christmas Gift Shop.
We are largely volunteer run - if you would like to be involved we would love to hear from you!
Admission by donation. Artist cards and prints available for purchase.
