Buttermilk chicken on a bun was messy but super good! The Mac and Cheese was very good too. Hubby had the ribs - he was a big fan of the sauce and I was happy he didn’t make his usual mess with dripping sauce on his shirt so I’m a big fan of the ribs too. These dishes were recommended by our lovely waitress, Victoria, who was delightful, attentive and knew the menu inside out. What a great lunch!
What an absolutely amazing spot! We had a little party and the food was great, ambience also very comfortable and the service 100% they kept coming to refil the waters, asking if everything was great, they did a really good job with everything. We will be back for out next celebrations. You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! We wish we could give more stars. Thank you Whitby team.
My family and I dined in for brunch today. I had the eggs florentine, which came with smoked salmon and capers. My wife had the garden omelette with the smashed browns. The coffee was served hot. Overall, the service was fantastic, and our waitress remembered us from a previous visit. We will definitely be coming back.
We spent about 150 dollars worth of food before tax. I'm not sure if it was worth the money, but we did end up taking some of the food home. Our favorite was the mushroom Mac and cheese and the coconut caramel cake. I think I had quite a huge expectation before coming here since a lot of people gave me good reviews. We wanted to try a bit of everything that was offered on the menu so we ordered the southern platter which was really easy to split between the two of us the fried chicken was perfect and the ribs were tender. The truffle fries were good but even better with the garlic aioli. Lastly, we definitely recommend getting their coconut caramel cake, which was on their seasonal menu. It was too heavy and rich, and the texture of the caramel really made a nice difference. Apart from the food, it was a nice social restaurant with a really cool atmosphere. I think this would be perfect for a large group of friends, especially for picky eaters.
Helped my family plan a celebration at Smash and loved the experience! Jason was wonderful to communicate with throughout the planning process and Stephanie and Kirsten were so kind and accommodating on the day of the event. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Can't wait to go back!
I took my family to enjoy a meal here and we were seated immediately. They wasted no time getting food to the little one and making sure we had our orders placed in a timely manner. I didn't have to ask for anything once. The service did their job, which is incredibly rare. I personally had the beef brisket grilled cheese, which is the best brisket sandwich I ever ate. The salmon miso was labeled as "okay" and the fish and chips were very good. I feel odd in saying I can't wait to eat here again, because so many places are just plain bad.
Great Service, excellent food. Our server was very kind and kept checking in. Burrito bowl was excellent! My egg was too much overdone but still great! Nice atmosphere!
I have been to the Markham location and prefer the ambience and service over this Whitby location. Service started off strong but got slower as the night progressed, the bar ran out of Malibu rum so we had to get a regular Margarita not the coconut pineapple one which was not very good at all..too strong. They also served my friend pasta without a spoon and no server came by for us to ask for one in time. The food tasted good yummy fried chicken sandwich and a hearty butternut squash soup; I think the waitress intended to be attentive but was perhaps overwhelmed. They should also instruct busboy to refill water one at a time rather than leaning over seated guests and trying to fill more than one glass at once: that felt uncomfortable after months of social distancing. On the up side- the restrooms were clean and there was plenty of free parking.
I went here today for lunch with my wife. It’s a very nice restaurant. The food is fair priced but on the more expensive side. We got the Smash Burger and the Chicken Cobb Salad. The portions are a good size. The service was great and polite. There is also a lot of TVs to watch sports or whatever they have on. They do have set hours for their menus so be aware of that. It’s in a big plaza with many other restaurants. There is a lot of parking so there is no issue with that.
My family and I had an amazing experience at Smash Kitchen and Bar. No wait to be seated and Evan our server was wonderful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! My Smash burger was huge much larger than i expected My sweet potato fries were slightly over cooked but the flavor was really good. Hope to dine here again again when I come back to Canada to visit my daughter and son-in-law!
