I’ve had 2 birthday cakes made here, and each time they were a huge hit! Delicious cakes and excellent detail on the cakes. I’ll would highly recommend!
Cake was moist but the caramel crunch with pretzel on top was not so good. The pretzel had no crunch very dull/soggy. I ate right when I got it so it shouldn’t have been like that. Maybe I’ll try something different next time.
I pre-ordered six chocolate gluten-free cupcakes for my daughters birthday. When I got them home, the cupcake critics were asking why they are so pale and tasteless. The store did not answer either of my emails or my voicemail. I called this morning and they want a cupcake brought back to them for inspection. Refused a refund. As you can see in the picture, these are not dark chocolate like a normal chocolate cupcake they usually provide.
Only 3 stars and here’s why…. Buyer Beware!!!! Bought a dozen, was there with a friend so we each were getting 6. Person offered to put them in 2 separate 6 pack boxes. We thought that was really nice of her UNTIL as she rang us up and our bill was bigger than normal for a dozen. Yes, we go there often. She neglected to tell us there was an extra almost $3 charge for the box she so kindly offered to us. Cupcakes are great but this was an unpleasant experience. It’s not about the $3 since obviously we don’t mind spending money on good product. It’s the principle of not telling us there would be an extra charge and allowing us the option to still take the 2 separate boxes or just the 1 for the 12. Oh BTW, today was get a free cupcake with the purchase of a dozen…. So? Did we really get a free cupcake today - I think not.
Been ordering bday cakes here for 2 years now. They’ve yet to disappoint. One was peanut butter. The other cookies n cream. I even had to shorten the amount of time they had to make the cake by 24 hours and it was still in their fridge ready to go an hour after they opened. I checked it out. Paid and left. Everything Was done correctly and the taste was amazing
I absolutely love smallcakes cupcakes! The Boston cream is my absolute favorite, they are pricey but they are amazing. I love the dog cupcakes as well so adorable. The staff is always so friendly and helpful!
I highly suggest the Smallcakes Cupcakery in Lagrange much nicer staff. I don’t recommend the Small Cakes in Elmhurst . They messed up my order and then almost wanted to charge me for it .. this place is a mess..
Cupcakes are delicious!! Love the chocolate. Lemon curd is good too. IMO they taste better than those from a famous TV bakery on the East Coast and are much more affordable.
Starting with the cupcakes- AMAZING!! This Smallcakes has a really tasty recipe that our entire staff loves. We can't decide on a favorite because they are all SO yummy. We met the new owners of the 'cupcakery', and they are just as sweet and wonderful as their cupcakes! Stopping in for a try is a must!
2 stars and here's why the business was dimly lit not very inviting it was very plain inside not much there besides a cooler and a counter as well as a broken ice cream cooler. I got 4 cup cakes and 2 of the Halloween cookie and frosting cups all together it was $35 to me that's a fair price but unfortunately the cupcakes were not up to par for the price I was very disappointed they were very plain and lacking flavor after 2 small bites I was done couldn't eat any more my kids as well each had 1 and they love a good cup cake they ate less than half of their cupcakes and were done maybe it's because we went at the end of the day and the cupcakes were sitting to be fair I don't exspect a fresh cup cake at 7pm but I'm not sure it would have been any better first thing in the morning either
