Slices N' Scoops

I went to this restaurant with my family and 5 other family for the long weekend, On ordering our lunch we were being told that the wait would be around 30 to 45 minutes and just to place our order we had to wait in line for a good 15 to 20 minutes. While we were waiting for our food, one of the family member took out some water bottles and passed it on to the kids to drink as they were hungry and it was a long wait for the food, we also had snacks with us but did not want to eat it in a restaurant where we had ordered our food. A older gentleman( I presume it is the owner) came out and asked us to not drink outside water. We explained to him that we had ordered our food and was waiting for our food and the kids were hungry and the water was just to distract them, but he did not listen and asked us to take our water off the premises. He also had the audacity to call us cheap. Finally we agreed not to drink the water on the patio. As we waited for our food, he stood at the door way for at least 15 minutes watching us to make sure that we did not drink any water. I was really disappointed with the treatment that we got and made me feel as if we are stealing. Its not that we did not buy anything from the store. Our whole group had totally spent more that $100/- on our order and we were planning to buy ice creams after our lunch but with that kind of attitude from the owner/manager, we went to the pie shack for the ice creams. I have a feeling that this kind of attitude towards my family members was because we were Asians. I would say though the staff there was really nice and polite except for the older gentleman. I guess he did not want to do any business with people of coloured skin.

Good selection of Kawartha ice cream. Lots of other food to pick from as well. We had the ice cream and it's delicious. The till is off to the side which makes the ordering process a bit strange, but other than that, our experience was very good.

Very friendly busy place with great ice cream. I had a funnel cake with strawberries and it was delicious! All overlooking boat traffic on the Trent.

We went with 30 people and spend 300 dollars on food . Some of us had bottle of water with us . Believe it or not, the owner came to us and told is very rudely to go and put back the water bottle in our car . And on top of that he called us cheap . I just couldn't believe a owner would talk to a paying customer like that. The food is not the best. And with this kind of attitude. I would not recommend anyone to go there .

I went with a large family, spent quite a fair amount of cash there. Food was good, employees were polite and friendly. But, there was a tall elder gentleman who decided to insult and berate my uncle for bringing water bottles from outside, (us being of colour) despite there being quite a other few Caucasians within the premises who also possessed water bottles from outside.
