If I could give zero stars I would, the way they treated my mother in the er was absolutely disgusting she came in an ambulance not being able to breathe. I had to call them and yell at them to give her IV fluids HOURS after she arrived!! they should have done that in the beginning! They were extremely rough with her she has bruises on her from them. they wanted to discharge her when clearly she couldn’t breathe whatsoever! They ended up taking her to a different hospital all the way in Tofield which she FINALLY got the care she needed! This hospital is absolutely horrible! The nurses are rude and the doctor working there is an absolute vile disgusting human being.
I was very surprised to see all the negative comments and surprised that the emergency closes at 11 pm.nI was visiting in Slave Lake and had a terrible fall on ice. I had to go to the emergency. All the staff we very helpful and friendly. I waited for just over an hour to see Dr. Raj Singh who treated me very well and was even able to diagnose a problem that I have suffered with for sometime.nI am very thankful for the help that I have received there.
If I could give a big fat zero here I would!nIt's took me sometime to get my emotions in order about how I felt about this hospitals supposedly be nurses.nnThe care my daughter received at this Slave Lake Hospital was horrifying. She arrived with a deep head wound exposing her skull, while no urgency or care was shown, and her wound was left uncovered for hours, with just a piece of gauze that they gave me to hold over her wound . Nurses laughed and joked during her IV, showed no compassion, and only acted after calling another hospital for guidance on how to cover a wound, this didnt happen until about 4 hours later. I had to beg for basic things like a blanket. This was neglect and malpractice — no child or family should ever be treated this way.
Carr and Bassioni are the worst doctors I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Carr treated me like I was a complete idiot because I’m a new mom. I was embarrassed and upset when I left the ER with my daughter who had an ear infection. She and bassioni didn’t bother to do a swab so my daughter was given unnecessary antibiotics twice. I come to find out a week later that she had a viral infection not bacterial. I’ve had nurses throw blankets on me and not help me into a bed when could barely walk. I absolutely despise this hospital and its lack of care for human decency.
I’m not from slave lake and needed to know if the emergency dept was open 24/7 so I called to inquire and asked the lady and she said very rudely yes, I asked what the wait times are and she said they don’t do wait times then she hung up on me. She was extremely rude, guess I’ll be going elsewhere
