Get a Taxi or an uber if you want to live. My aunt and I were returning from our trip and our sky shuttle driver decided to go through a one way road in the opposite direction. He was dodging cars left and right. Will never forget this experience
This company should be PERMANENTLY CLOSED!! I would have given zero STARS if it were possible. Never in my life have I been treated this poorly by a shuttle service. I booked 10 days in advance over the phone for a ride from Edmonton airport to the Fantasyland hotel for myself and my small child in a wheelchair. I received a confirmation email from Skyshuttle and printed it out to present to the agent when I arrived in Edmonton. I did just that - only to be told that they do not transport wheelchairs - and that if I wanted to wait for another hour they would find me another ride. UNBELIEVABLE!! I was upset and my child was hungry and tired - so I went out to the front of the airport and flagged down a CAPITAL TAXI. They were able to transport the wheelchair with no problems. 2 days after arriving at the hotel I noticed that Skyshuttle had noted on the email that I had paid by credit card. I called to ensure that they hadn't charged me for the ride that I did not get. The person who answered told me that my confirmation number was for a different date - and that I had missed the ride!!! I told her that I had a confirmation email stating otherwise. I told her that I arrived in Edmonton on July 28th - so why would I book a ride for a different date. She really had no explanation....but said that "it didn't look like my credit card was charged". When I arrived back home I planned to make a complaint to Skyshuttle in Edmonton. I emailed and got a reply from the accounting support clerk. The email gave me her direct phone number - and so I called. I tried to explain things to her - but she didn't seem to want to understand. She just kept saying - "well they did offer you a ride an hour later, so you could have had a ride". She also went on to explain that they don't really schedule rides because planes can be early or late. So what's the point of making a reservation then?? She had me so frustrated, after explaining my case at least twice....that I finally just told her that I understand that they don't care about customer complaints and then I said GOOD-BYE which was probably the result she was waiting for . I will NEVER use this service again. Be warned - they don't care and you too could be stranded at the airport with your confirmation email in hand. No wonder they have such horrible reviews. ** please check out the reviews for this company - on Yelp and Tripadvisor as well -many bad reviews - and with good reason. Poor business practices.
I rode the shuttle both from airport to my hotel and on my way back to the airport on October 2019. The shuttle service was quite convenient and the ticket price is very reasonable. The drivers were very helpful and respectful. The lady at the front desk helped a lot about the best time to book the pick up time from the hotel and despite being early in the morning, the shuttle was right on time. Great job. Thanks for your service.
I was worried because of all the terrible reviews, but my trip went without a hitch. I booked a round trip online, to save money over parking at the airport. Got picked up at the time that was agreed upon, and was dropped off in the same location 3 weeks later. Drivers were nice as well. It's an airport shuttle folks, don't expect it to operate like a personal chauffeur and you'll be fine. Will use again!
Stayed at Fairmont who recommended this service and I was a little dismayed when I saw the Google reviews. However it was so easy and they picked you up on time. I bought a round trip ticket from the airport and they said to book the return I had to call a number. Thinking this was going to be a hassle I almost didn't buy the return trip; however when I called in seconds I was booked. This is much cheaper than a cab; however it does leave the airport on the hour for downtown locations so if you get in at 10 minutes past you do have to wait.
When I purchased a round trip to my destination at the airport upon my arrival in Edmonton, I was not advised that I was required to book my return trip. I called the morning of my return flight to find out when the next shuttle was and was told I needed to book the shuttle and should have done so sooner. However, I was given a spot on the 7:20 am shuttle and advised the driver may be late. At promptly 7:20 I entered the lobby of the hotel to wait for the shuttle. After half an hour, I called to find out where the driver was and was told the shuttle had already come and gone and that's why customers are advised that the shuttle may leave 15 minutes earlier than the allotted time. I was not informed that the shuttle may be 15 minutes early - in fact I was informed it may be late! I spoke with the hotel concierge and he let me know that he had not seen a Sky Shuttle that morning and he had been on duty since 7 am. So what is the truth? Did the shuttle even really come? Regardless, the representative I spoke to advised me to take the next shuttle at 8:20 which would arrive to the airport only one hour before my 10:30 am flight. This 8:20 shuttle was nearly 10 minutes late. There is no indication of any of these instructions or time discrepancies on the tickets and no representative informed me of these requirements until after I was experiencing problems. I wrote this message to the company in the hopes that regulations are tightened up so that other guests in future do not experience such difficulties. Although the response from the corporate office indicated they would pass along my message, I was also "respectful advised" that I should have known there would be possible time discrepancies and the shuttle might leave early. This is shameful! Everyone should be told, and it should be in writing on the tickets, the booking guidelines and requirement to arrive to wait 15 minutes early. This company is so unprofessional and it's service is not to be relied upon. I wonder how many people have missed flights because of these issues!
Our hotel provided us with travel vouchers for transportation to and from WEM. Our flight home was not until the evening, so we decided to spend the day at galaxyland. Our hotel stored our luggage to be picked up upon our return. We were dropped off by the Sky Shuttle and told to phone to arrange a shuttle back to our hotel. After a lovely day at the mall, we headed back to our drop off location to arrange our ride. The customer service representative was incredibly rude, asked me why I would go to the mall the same day we were flying home, told me he could only arrange for me to be picked up and taken directly to the airport. I told him that wouldn't work because I still needed to retrieve my luggage from our hotel. He then offered to call me a taxi at my expense. I was almost in tears as he was so unpleasant and had me fearful we would miss our flight home. Do not use this service! THE REPLY from the owner is incorrect! I was initially offered a credit, to which they quickly changed their minds about. I tried to compromise, requesting a partial refund as we will NOT be returning to Edmonton this summer.
Even after reading about the bad experiences online, I still decided to give Skyshuttle Airport Service a try. Now, I can fullheartedly say that I do not recomend this service. The main reason why I am writing a negative review is bad communication. The shuttle I booked to the airport was 50 minutes late. Skyshuttle does not call you or give you any information about the delay. I had planned a little delay in my time schedule, so the skyshuttle being late itself was not a huge deal although it's bad of course. But the uncertainty and lack of communication created stress, because I wasn't sure if I had missed the bus, if I could still count on them or if I should call a taxi. I tried to call them several times, but it was only on the 5th try that someone answered my call. Another proof of bad communication was the driver. When he finally arrived, he shouted "HURRY UP!" at me in a very rude way. That was the only time he spoke to me. No "hello" or greeting, he did not even ask for my ticket or proof of purchase. It was not me who was late and had to hurry up; I had been waiting for almost an hour and was ready to go. There was no reason to harshly command me this way. Some may argue that you get what you pay for. The cheap price is the reason why I'm still leaving 2 stars. But honestly? After this experience, I wish I would have just taken public transit or called an uber. For exampe, the ETS bus to the airport at Century Park is even cheaper 5 CAD, but more reliable.
I wish I could give zero stars! I haven't even used their service yet and already want to kick myself for booking with them. Their travel times on the website is not clear or easy to find, I booked then realized right away after clicking 'submit' that it would not work for my family to use their service as we would miss our flight. They will not refund under any circumstance and have zero compassion. It is not cheap for a family of 6 to have to forfeit this cost. RESPONSE to Skyshuttle response below: I DID call your dispatch, an earlier pickup time did not work as I explained on the phone, was just looking to be refunded for this portion, that's all, pretty simple. And you guys don't accommodate/care.
Good price for a ride to the airport, but it takes forever and the driver made a few stops in alleyways with no passenger pickups. Bit odd. Paid for a return trip but after arriving back in Edmonton and collecting my bags it was an hour wait for the next shuttle so I took an Uber. Not for me.
