Skylight Drive-In

About

Renfrew County's only Drive-In Movie Theatre! Built in 1954, converted to a digital picture in 2014. Open Victoria Day Long Weekend to Thanksgiving.

Story

The Pembroke Skylight Drive-In has re-opened under new ownership!
Kevin Marshall and his Wife Kathy Lepine are the new owners. Kevin is the owner/operator of the O'Brien Theatre-Arnprior, and brings almost 27 years of theatre operations to the Skylight! Kathy has been the general manager at the O'Brien Theatre-Renfrew since 1999, and they are both very enthusiastic Drive In theatre goers!
The first order of business was to install a new Christie 2230 digital projector along with the industry standard DoReMi server to get the largest and clearest picture in the Ottawa Valley.
"35mm film is almost completely finished, there are just not any prints available to us this year!" Says Mr. Marshall
As the concession booth was looking pretty tired, a fresh coat of paint in the concession area and particularly the washrooms should do wonders for the guests.
"We have a lot of work to do to modernize the kitchen, and will have standard drive-in fare plus new healthy choices as the summer wears on"
We really hope that the "New Skylight Drive-In" will be a big hit with local customers as well as tourists, looking for great family entertainment, for a decent price.
Once the Drive-In is up and running successfully, the couple plan on looking into adding a second screen.
"Selling advertising for the On-Screen pre-show, and offering RV and Boat storage in the winter months, should help to pay a small part of the on-going expenses, the original cost of the property, plus the all new projection gear." Hopes Mr. Marshall. "We'll do what we can, run the best Drive-in we can, and with a little luck, good weather, and community support, The "New Skylight Drive-In" should keep this 60 year old drive-In alive."

"Historic Drive-In movie Theatre in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. We are open Victoria Day Long weekend in May until Thanksgiving in October. July and August we are open 7 nights a week, and every night we have at least two feature movies, back to back for one low price!"

Absolutely amazing!! You cannot beat this price for a set of movies. Very fun atmosphere. Lots of typical movie snacks to make you feel like you're at the theatre. Fun and friendly staff. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Lots of fun and will bring back memories if you've ever been to a Drive-In before.
We had a really great time at Skylight Drive-In this past Friday! It was our first time at this drive-in. Ordering our tickets online was pretty easy. The ticket booth attendant was very friendly and helpful. The concession stand was very good. There's swings, a slide, and some see-saws for the kids to play on while waiting for the movies to start. The bright lights at the concession stand were turned off when the movies were on. We did have one issue which was resolved by one of the staff members. Apparently you're allowed to run your vehicle while the movies are playing. Unfortunately the vehicle that parked beside us was loud enough to drown out the sound from our speakers. Now, we were sitting outside our vehicle and they were inside their vehicle with the a/c on. I reported to the manager and they asked the vehicle to relocate and they did. Maybe this is new to me, but the only time I've been to a drive-in and vehicles were running during the movies was when it was cold outside and heat was needed. Any other times, vehicles only ran during intermission to charge their batteries. Other than a little bit of an inconvenience, we had a blast and will definitely watch more movies at Skylight Drive-in!
Absolutely love this place! Super cheap pricing, great snacks and the staff are very friendly. We're so lucky to have this gem
Awesome place, awesome owners. They let us park and watch movies from our travel trailer ~ Please call ahead or msg on FB if you are planning to do the same to ensure there is place. Thank you so much and we'll definitely be back!
I came here as a child and was able to bring my children this summer. It’s an amazing experience. Definitely worth the hour drive.
Oh I love.drive ins reminds me everytime growing up with my parents ..just love it...staff are amazing frieny happy helpful just love it and so glad our kiddos are able to enjoy it!...oh and great pricing can't get that at a movie theater!...and we can be together like home not far apart and windex on the windows so it doesn't fog up just a really nice time...
Always a good time! I love coming to watch movies here. The staff are all friendly. The double features are fantastic, and the movie selections are up to date. The larger vehicles are supposed to park further back, so I had concerns about people who back in and lift the hatch. The wide screen movies are a little higher up on the screen, so the lifted hatches don't end up blocking views. There is a playground to keep kids occupied before the movies start. But beware, is not the plastic kind with rubber underneath! Classic metal pieces, like a slide and swing set are there. They don't do it like this anymore!
Our family love this place. My boys are autistic and this the best way to watch movies with them! Mosquito are bad but if you bring what you need to screen off you windows your good. If you forget they have stuff to buy to help with the bugs.
Thank you for the warm welcome! Our family had a wonderful time and will definitely stop in again on our way through.
We'll maintained property and friendly staff. Playground for the kids. Had a great evening!
