I check in tomorrow for Thanksgiving and I can honestly say that since I am unfamiliar with the area, the staff I had spoken to about my reservations made it so I was excited and not stressed out. At this point I could careless if there are holes in the wall. They made me feel like family so I'm very excited for tomorrow and I think people Re forgetting that this isn't Minneapolis or Vegas so you get what you get and you never no matter what have all your expectations met. That whole county is all small towns so it's like one big family. So if those types of environments aren't for you, than don't stay there or write a review bc your expectations are unrealistic.

It worked well as a place to stop for the night since there is not much in the area. Not fancy by any means. Quite dated though there is some construction or renovation going on. The buffet was mediocre. The hot tub water was dirty. The room was comfortable enough. This place served its purpose but was not super nice or clean. I'd stay there again if we were driving through the area because, as I said, there are not really any other options.

Stayed in a 4th floor suite in the tower. Unfortunately, the suites have apparently had limited or no hot water since the tower was built. They gave us a room in the old side to shower in, but you have to walk through the lobby and past the busy casino to get there. The buffet breakfast is quite small, and unless you like eggs, bacon or sausage, and off-brand cereal, it's not worth the cost. The casino is okay. Table games are boring, but there's a good selection of slots. I'm used to getting free alcohol while on the casino floor, but maybe they don't do that at this casino... Central on the floor is a bar, with bartenders who can't decide whether to charge 5 or 6 dollars per drink. The casino is advertised as smoke free, but the main floor isn't. There is a small non-smoking game room near the buffet, across the lobby from the main floor. If you're an OTB wagerer, don't bother. They've lost their OTB privileges. The staff is really personable. They're always helpful and are happy to swap stories with guests. All in all, a good place to stay, but not in the suites. My review reflects the dissatisfaction with 40°F showers and only one TV in the suite (as opposed to 2, like their website claims).

I really wanted to give this place an average rating as the people are nice and it is generally clean but it is really impossible to do so. The place is way past its prime and needs a facelift. I stayed in the tower which was supposed to have the best rooms in the place. If they are the best I'd sure hate to see the worst!. The room was clean but Dark As a Dungeon! There was one table lamp with a badly scarred shade. The other two lights by the bed had little candelabra bulbs in them and gave very little light at all. There were gooseneck reading lights underneath them but they were limited in their coverage. The bathroom was spacious and kept very clean with the usual amenities, shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion. The towels were decent but the bath mat was pretty well worn with threads hanging off of it. There was a small refrigerator and microwave and a vending machine in the hall for sodas and water. The room itself showed multitudinous signs of wear with nicks and scratches in the furniture and a very scarred lampshade. There is an in-room Keurig coffee maker with four pods per day. The heat worked well even though it was a bit noisy. The casino itself is nothing to write home about. It is extremely small, full of slot machines and smoking is allowed although there is a small, non-smoking slot machine Casino down the hall. There are 6 gaming tables, Blackjack and some form of Poker but only two were being dealt. There is no roulette or craps table. As far as I saw the minimum table bet was $5. The buffet was adequate with good chicken and pork chops with a very decent mushroom gravy. There was also a fairly good selection of sides and a somewhat sparse dessert table. The usual Softdrink Machine was available as well. The furnishings themselves were extremely tired, the stuffing was actually coming out of some of the booth benches. By the way, the buffet never opens on time, usually about 10 minutes late. The buffet is open for breakfast at around 7 and dinner at around 5. It closes down late at night and there is nothing else available until breakfast and there is no other place to eat in the immediate area. The people running the buffet were very nice and cheerful. There is a snack bar with a decent menu where I had the driest hamburger I have ever eaten in my entire life. I will certainly say you get plenty for your money though because it is quite large and the onion rings and fries as sides are really monstrous. Strangely enough, my soda was served in a small styrofoam hot cup but I did get free refills. Once again the people here were very pleasant and the service was efficient. Check-in was also efficient and the people were, as everyone else here was, very pleasant. Would I stay here again? I'd have to say no even though it is painful to do so because the people are so nice. The place is kind of depressing and sad because of all the cosmetic problems it has, the very dark room and the casino is really not very busy. It gives you the impression of something that might have been really great back about 10 or 15 years ago and then has been allowed to go slowly downhill. All in all it's a shame.

I called the hotel 6-7 times on a Thursday afternoon to make a reservation with no answer. The call went to a voicemail that apparently no one checks. How do you let your business phone ring for 1 minute 7 times in a row without being picked up to at least get put on hold? I called again around 9:30 pm and someone finally answered after 30 seconds with the following as a greeting "hotel". I reserved my room and had to ask what the total amount was. No useful information was given to me. On check in day i called to see if it was at all possible to check in early. I called 3 times around 11 am-12 pm on check in day before someone answered with the same greeting "hotel". I was told there is no early check in because the maids haven't came back with a report showing the rooms are cleaned. I said so you can't go find out what rooms are clean and let us go into one of those? They said no. I asked are you sure? She replied "yup". I hung up. There was no way that not a single room was ready before 3 pm. We go to the hotel to check in at 3 pm and there are three employees sitting or standing behind the hotel lobby front desk answering the phone immediately. We were nicely greeted and they were very helpful. We get to our room on the 4th floor and there is no hot water. I called the front desk and receive lots of apologies and that we'll get a new room immediately. An employee came up 30 seconds later with keys to a new room and helped carry things down the hall. This room had "warm" water, not quite hot, just warm. I've been to the casino many times and I've had fun and thought that its a nice place but the customer service is terrible. The hotel was looking to be the same way over the phone but they were helpful once i was physically at the hotel and in front of them. Customer service training for all the employees at this business would make a world of difference. It is really hit or miss right now it seems. Also, the rate was not worth what i had to go through between the calls, the customer service and moving rooms.
