Hubby and I parked here for our break, not the first time he's been here but it was mine. Ate here for dinner and breakfast the next day. We sat in the bar for dinner and enjoyed hanging out with other truckers, Donna our bartender was awesome. Great atmosphere. I had the cod and the husband had the brisket tacos. Oh and we also got the loaded spuds. Everything was excellent. Can't say anything bad about our choices. For breakfast the next day, we both got omelette's with the loaded hash browns and on the recommendation of another regular trucker a side of the french toast. Again; can't say a bad thing about the food. The french toast was amazing, food came out hot and fresh. I thought the prices were reasonable, we live in Colorado and thought no way we could eat breakfast the two of us for $36 like we did here. We spent $82 for dinner but we also drank, usually our bill is half alcohol, half food. I thought the prices were on point for what you get. I don't understand some of the previous reviews on prices and service. We loved it!
One of favorite stops for the food here! Always like coming here, great food. Good selection of delicious meats- Ribs, pulled pork, Brisket, & excellent roast chicken. Large reasonable sides, & awesome $1Cornbread with butter & honey. Always excellent service with a smile. Plenty of comfortable seating @ booth or table.
Fast service especially when busy! Brisket and steak are tender and high quality ! We had 5 side dishes which were corn bread, mash potatoes, green beans, tater tots, and mixed veggies. Sides are sold separately at 3.00 each. The meat is priced by weight.
I had the best time here.. its connected to the travel center with local items n well everything u need.. now back to the restaurant. You seat yourself and grab your own soda, menu for skol and Ragnar both on table. You go up and order and I asked this awesome guy what was best on menu for sandwich and he suggested the dragon burger he was right omg so good but u gotta love spice I got a number to put on table and food was brought out. I also got the macaroni salad. My friend got bourbon smothered chicken and Brussel sprouts that she loved. The atmosphere was awesome, the details wow.. I mean I dont get out alot but I was totally excited over this place. Also being plus size im always happy with good seats besides the booths.
The Italian beef was good and I love that the potatoes are real and have the skins in them. Very good food. I hope to do a reset here sometime.
Awesome place! Great local beers and awesome menu! The locals are fun! Definitely worth stopping in. Awesome truck stop attached which I love as a trucker ‍ nice hotel next door too. Great travel plaza all around. Awesome souvenirs. Bought tons of syrup and chocolates.
I don't recommend eating here. I had a deep fried cod 3 piece, skol fries and a coleslaw plus iced tea and it was almost $31! The food was mediocre, at best, and you have to order at the counter no waitstaff. They give you a table tent with a number and bring you your food, which I had to go back and get my coleslaw 1 of 3 items I ordered and the server plopped it down with an attitude. I said, "thank you" and got no response. Last meal here for this old trucker! I used to get great food and service here, but I think those days are long gone!
SKOL needs to be placed at more TA and Petro locations! The service was great, and so was the food.
I understand the concept of the restaurant. However, what I don't get is if you're saving all that money in labor by not hiring wait staff, why you can't get plastic menus that can be wiped off & at least one person to clean the seating areas. The tables were kind of clean. They looked like they were brushed off any debris, but not actually wiped. The menus on the table were in need of replacing. The food is mediocre at best in my opinion. I have never had a more depressing brisket in my life, it was just oversalted grey mush. The cheese sauce was watery. The salad has a considerable amount of the white part of the lettuce & some spinach. The woman standing behind the redesigned buffet yelling as people walked in there's no table service did nothing for the atmosphere either. The 2 stars are honestly for the young lady at the register - she was the only smiling staff member encountered today.
Came in to get some grub sat down in a booth and waited for 10 minutes to find out is basically serve yourself but not a buffet. Everything ala cart wow. And they say it’s too serve our guest better. So I went to Taco Bell. Won’t be back. Used to be a great place to eat but nope they had to change it.
