Our first time here and we were not disappointed. Our server was fantastic: helpful and personable. We had the fried clam plate regular sized and fish and chips large. Portion sizes were really good. The food was hot, crispy, and tasty. It would be nice if the selection of non alcoholic beer was better there is only one option currently. Other than that this is a fantastic restaurant. You need to check it out.
We stopped here while passing through and were honestly surprised by how good everything was.nThe chowder was incredible and packed with ingredients. Definitely order it!nThe lobster roll had many lobster meat, and the fish tacos were also amazing. Even the salad was perfect.nService was super friendly and welcoming.nWould absolutely come back again.
Skipper Jack's was the first place that we ate in Canada and it was so good that we can back for more the next day. We had the foam burger and bacon wrapped scallops the first night. The scallops were mouth wateringly tender while the bacon was crisp to perfection. The fish was so light and flakey yet loaded with flavor. The Cole slaw had the prefect balance of acidity and sweetness.nThe next day we tried the lobster poutine and seafood chowder. Like the day before, the portions were quite generous. I have never like chowder in the States but Skipper Jack's made a convert out of me with their seafood chowder. The creamy broth was seasoned to perfection and contained a generous amount of seafood in every spoon. The lobster poutine was delectable and was covered with a heaping mound of lobster that melted in your mouth along with the cheese curls. Don't get me started on the service. It is as good as any you would find in a fine dining restaurant except with lovely, down to earth service.nIt no wonder that they have the much deserved high rating. You need to stop reading and go start eating at Skipper Jack's!
Great local restaurant, family friendly. You can get some seafood shopping done at the same time as well. I had the lobster warm and a cheesecake. Both of these portions were large and delicious. The waitress was very nice as well.
The place was packed! Lots of locals ordering takeout helped to support our choice of restaurants. We waited a bit before a table was ready & there is no place to get a drink while you wait; however, there was beer readily available once we sat down. They were out of lobster… lobster huge bummer. The food we chose was still delicious. The staff was very friendly!
