I called to place a food order for pickup for my grandparents to enjoy this evening. I asked the gentleman on the phone if he thought it was enough food for senior citizens or should I order more, and he said he would upsize the rice portion complimentary. It was a very kind gesture :. The owner also regularly cooks for the Upper Room Soup Kitchen which speaks volumes about his character.
I dont often complain or feel the need to review experiences however tonight was unacceptable from a consumer standpoint. I Ordered from door dash. Was hoping for a good chinese meal as a treat after a long week. What i got was nothing near what i expected. I ordered the shrimp and mushroom dish. Kung Po Chicken, an order of chicken chow mein and an egg roll. 90% of what i ordered will not be eaten. The kung Po chicken was by far the worst ive ever had. It was more of a spicy raw onion soup than it was anything even resembling Kung Po chicken. The Mushroom Shrimp was alright, again, VERY watery and soup-ey. I was able to eat some of it but it very much lacked any flavor. The chicken chow mein was basically steamed bean sprouts with very little chicken to be seen and absolutely no flavor. If not for the egg roll, Which was delicious, this rating would have been 1 star. Cherry on top? They use paper bags to deliver... it was left at my door with a SOAKED bottom. It all fell out when i lifted it up. Thank god i hadnt picked it all the way up or i wouldnt have got to eat anything. Not that it made much of a difference in the end...
The staff was kind but almost to extremes.. coming over to see how things are every couple of minutes! I suppose they could just ignore you like the previous owners did but they could definitely slow down a little bit! The buffet was alright but the rice was sort of chemically tasting and the ribs had a bit too much fat compared to what I’m use too. All in all it was an OK experience!
The food tastes really good, and I would definitely get it again! However, the service was a little slow, but that's kind of expected for Mother's Day. Also, I found what looked to be a Claw. I'm not sure what from but I'm assuming maybe a chicken. One thing that I love about this restaurant is that they do so much good in the community! I rate Silver Streams a 3/5, and I will probably be back!
Just ordered Silver Streams for the first time with the new owners. Nice people, didn't tell me they closed at 630 online says 730 but offered to stay open until 640 for me but never said they close at 630. The man who gave me the food was very nice, and tossed in some fried dumplings for freebest part of the meal. The rice was clumpy, and half was white half was brown, like unevenly spread soya sauce. The spare ribs, while plentiful where mostly fat, and there were over 10 meatless bones in the pack. The eggrolls were good but could really tatse the oil they were cooked in. The chicken balls 10 for a dinner for 4 people were hard, chewy, and 2 of them were smaller and breaded differently then the rest. Not a good meal at all. The second star was only for the very polite staff.
The new owners have done a wonderful job of bringing Silver Streams up to standards that one would expect from a restaurant. Good food, great value, friendly staff. My only suggestion to the new owners would be for them to install a couple hand sanitizer stations near their entry and near the buffet. The lack of hand washing options for the public is my only concern.
First time here while vacationing. It was awful. The chicken balls were so dry I couldn't cut through them. Any food with meat was really fatty, wontons were just chips, no meat at all, rice tasted burnt. Chicken wings were good though. My husband had a few bites but couldn't eat the rest. Restaurant was not very clean. Doors covered in finger prints, bathroom unclean. We won't be returning.
Service was very friendly. Food was fair at best. HG spare ribs were very fatty, chicken chow mein was overpowering with onions didn't even taste like chicken, rice was clumpy and sweet and sour chicken balls were just "okay". We probably won't rush back.
Food was ok but not enough of it. Some of the food was cold and some was hot. When I went to get chicken wings there was none. They were never replaced the whole time I was there. I also didnt care for the egg rolls. Next time i will eat else where.
We've been there many times. The food there is delicious. There are all kinds of varieties you can choose from. I like the fried vegies, fried noodles, ribs, fried chicken wings. I like the ice cream there too.The price is reasonal. The service is awesome. My husband and I love this Chinese restaurant. 26 May,2017. I have to say something today. It was raining at lunch time and this restaurant was packed when I went there. Though some dishes I wanted to eat were running out or gone. But the workers there worked hard to get food on the counter. Anyways it is worthwhile waiting. Thanks for offering the delicious Chinese food.
