Came here for breakfast and got the breakfast sandwich on brioche bun with avocado as well as the eggplant pesto sourdough melt. The breakfast sandwich was our fave but the eggplant one was good too. I also got the vegan chocolate spice cookie which I really liked. The atmosphere is great and it’s a cute spot. We also got coffee from next door. It’s cute because it’s a couple different things in the same building.
Definitely an amazing bakery and cafe!!! I absolutely loved my salmon sandwich, which came with homemade sourdough. It was incredibly delicious, every bite was savored! I also had coffee from the attached coffee shop which was probably one of the best coffees I've had! I also use alternate milk, so it's always hard to find good coffee but this was exceptional. 100% looking to come back!
A great bakery and patisserie in a popular location. The pastries are delicious! Croissants are light and flaky. The only problem I have is that I don't have enough stomach room for everything I want, so I guess that means I'll have to come back. Gladly!
Amazing!! I had the bureka & egg and a handmade, fresh poptart. So good!! And the baristas and their playlists are on point! Definitely a must visit if you're in Calgary!
Visited Calgary and heard about this place. Sidewalk Citizen did not disappoint! The breakfast sandwich was AMAZING and the meat quiche was DELISH! This will be a regular stop for us whenever we're in Calgary!
Chocolate cake, corned beef sandwich with a coffee - all yummy. Great atmosphere in a historical building right on the Bow River. Friendly service and seating inside or out.
What a nice bakery located inside amongst some other eateries. The pastries are well made - the milk chocolate espresso cake is a heavy little cake that encapsulates both flavours very well at $3.95. The croissants were standard and good. Pricing is fair with all baked goods. They do also offer sandwiches and soups - menu ranges from $7-$14 for those items. There is usually a lone up here but goes very quickly. Worth a visit.
Food is a 5/5 and always super tasty, I want to score this place a 4/5 overall however bc there is just a couple things I wish were different. Mostly the table I sat at was very dirty when I went, no fault of the staff- I could have asked them to clean it, but it was super busy and there was a long line upprobably why they were behind on cleaning tables. This is slightly related but also a bit of a covid rant I kind of wish they were taking part in the vaccine program like other places so that there was more space to dine, it ended up being crowded outside anyway? And everyone has masks off , but inside they kept telling people to stay 6 feet apart while they had masks on... still, the food was a good experience but the overall time there was less relaxing like I was hoping and more kind of frustrating, with the large amount of people in one place that I felt could have been organized way better if they weren't just doing take out right now
Dropped in on the weekend to have lunch at Sidewalk Citizen. The food was tasty. We enjoyed the featured cornbeef sandwich a the breakfast sandwich. Both were well made and afterwards got a bundt cake to go which was a nice late afternoon snack. The price is a bit on the pricier side but the food reflects the quality. Probably not a every weekend thing for me but if you are in the market for a cool spot with some good food - you will most likely enjoy this bakery.
First time here, and I loved it! Really cool interior, and the staff is very friendly! The quiche and red pepper soup is amazing! Topped it off with a little cheesecake and it was a fantastic meal! I'm not local to this area, so it was recommended by a friend. Great recommendation and I'll definitely be back! Edited to add: had an incredible grilled cheese with three different cheeses and topped with local honey. Absolutely phenomenal, and as always, the staff is very friendly, and happy to answer any questions you have. Wonderful place.
