My family and I have been loyal customers of this Shoppers Drug Mart for many years — most of the employees know my mom well. Unfortunately, the customer service here has gone downhill over the past few years.nnA few months ago, I came in to buy an Air Canada gift card to earn bonus PC Optimum points. The supervisor on duty said she didn’t know how it worked and refused to process the transaction, even though her coworker confirmed it would go through like a regular one. Instead of helping, she insisted I come back another day or go to a different location. It felt like she just had the ego to prove herself right, I went to the other shoppers down the street and the processed it within seconds.nnAnother time, my wife was overcharged for an item. Even after the cashier admitted the mistake, the same supervisor a short girl whose name starts with “B” argued for almost 20 minutes and refused to check the CCTV or fix the issue promptly. Thankfully, a kind girl from cosmetics stepped in to help, but we ended up missing most of our movie because of the delay.nnMost recently, when I came to buy oil, the staff were again rude and unhelpful. I asked an employee a middle aged lady in blue shirtto help me find it but instead of helping she made weird faces at me and told me to lookup online.nnIt’s disappointing to see how this store is being managed now. The rest of the team is generally polite and helpful, but these few people clearly needs proper customer service training. Many of my neighbours and even my family have started going to the other Shoppers nearby, even though this one is closer. Most of the times I’ve noticed managers on duty in evening don’t have proper knowledge about products they r selling and supervisors are not at all professional either wrong people have been hired or there is lack of training. This is just effecting your sales after all.
I have been dealing with Christina for almost 1 year because of my insurance company's pre approved medication. She is amazing, thoughtful and knowledgeable! Made my health concerns comfortable.nThank you and keep up the great customer service Christina!nArnaldo
I was told the preparation time for a finished medication would be 30 minutes, even during a quiet, off-peak night. I waited patiently. However, after exactly 30 minutes had passed and I expressed frustration, I received the medication within two minutes.nnSo what exactly was I waiting for during the first 30 minutes?nnEven more concerning, a customer ahead of me received their medication — which required additional compounding — in just 15 minutes. The only difference I could observe was that the customer and pharmacist spoke Cantonese both.nnThis feels like blatant discrimination.nnI have already submitted a formal complaint to the company’s official website.
Terrible customer service. Came for a tetanus shot that I had booked online, it says on the Shoppers website you can book tetanus shot appointments, but they looked at me like I had three heads. They said they don’t do it, even though on the website it says they do and then they said I was looking at the Shoppers from another province even though I wasn’t. There might be a misunderstanding between this Shoppers and corporate, but it doesn’t excuse poor behaviour from the pharmacists.
I was extremely disappointed with the service I received at this Shoppers Drug Mart. I came in around 10:50pm looking for advice on an over-the-counter anti-diarrhea medication. Only adult doses were available on the shelf, and I simply wanted to confirm whether it could be safely adjusted for my 7-year-old or if there were any contraindications.nnI patiently waited over 15 minutes while the pharmacist processed a claim on the computer. Since he was mostly waiting on the system, I politely asked if I could quickly ask my question — something that would take less than 30 seconds. Without even looking at the medication in my hand, he immediately dismissed me, saying “I can’t answer your question, and I don't know what you want to ask for the medication”nnOnly after I explained further did he glance at the product and reply, in a rude and dismissive manner, that it was not for children. While the information itself may have been correct, the lack of professionalism, empathy, and willingness to provide even basic guidance was unacceptable.nnPharmacists are an essential part of frontline healthcare. A simple acknowledgment, explanation, or redirection would have gone a long way. Instead, I left feeling disrespected and unsupported not what any parent should experience when seeking urgent advice for their child. Management needs to take this matter seriously, as this level of service falls far below the standards of patient care.
