Great Japanese restaurant! Delicious food, big variety, affordable prices and big portions. Some Maki rolls where bigger than expected which makes for a weird bite chewing experience but I've seen several Japanese adapt that style so I'm assuming it's an area/province specialty maybe? The decor is very nice, and they offer Japanese style no shoes and low tables setting overseeing the field outside. Overall, I totally recommend it!
Well the outside is certainly deceptive. Didn’t look like much on the outside but the inside was very nice with great views. The food was okay. The deep fried tofu was okay. The tofu was not soft enough and the outside wasn’t light. The sashimi plate was alright. I think the service was really fantastic.
I love this place. Sushi is amazing always and the view is best in city. I love it when I can get a booth, it is not often as they are fairly busy all the time. You can call for reservation and ask for any table you want. The menu is easy to read and has all the things you would expect. Fresh oysters come Thursday but don’t usually last but a few days so if you want nice sized fresh oyster go Thursday or Friday. It can be a little hectic on the servers there sometimes so service can be a bit slow on a rare occasion. They do a monster amount of takeout and delivery. They keep it in-house too and don’t farm out there delivery. Great time always when I go.
Such reasonably priced sushi, great service. Plus they are open past 9. Will be back next time I am in Red Deer
Average at best. Food in past visits has been great... this time... not so much. It wasn't bad, just average. Service was very very slow. They don't clear dirty plates. Half of the table got asked about more drinks, the others didn't. After a poor experience, they add a gratuity to the bill, but don't tell you about it. This may have been my last trip to Shiso. I don't know. I really like sushi. Maybe I'll try it again if someone can convince me it's improved. Until then... I'll go somewhere else.
We used to come here years ago and always enjoyed it. When we came back recently, nothing had changed including the quality of food, which was nice. The service is always good and the price is great as well.

Very good, will go again. The food was great, had octopus balls, Mexican maca, and some other sushi roll with roast beef in it it was good with a bit, a little lacking with flavour and the rolls were a little large to try to put in your mouth. I know it sounds strange. But really, my friend and I were struggling to cram them into our mouths. As when. You cut them in half bight sized pieces they'd fall apart. Other than that, very good. Nice, clean. Polite and courteous staff, decent prices. We will go again.
Sushi was very good. Enjoyed the combo and salmon skin temaki.
Gone to this place many times the food, service, and atmosphere never fail to give its best! Everything is fresh, and you can taste the freshness in every bit! Definitely recommend going with a group, and sharing is the best way to go when visiting and ordering. You can then get to try a little of everything ordered.Food: 5/5
