I have been using Shinhan Bank for 10 years. Shinhan Bank's TFSA rate is probably the highest among Canadian banks. Everyone, do not miss the opportunity and open a new account.
I visited to open TFSA account and got helped by Hyunah Jang. She explained me what is the best way to invest and how it work. I actually go to this branch a lot because it's the closest one from my place and i never get disappointed. Nice underground free parking, clean space and perfect customer service.
I visited this bank to open an account without an appoinment, but I didn't wait long time. I asked a few questions about the opened account, but the staff responded kindly without any sign of annoyance! If something happens next time, I think I will visit Shinhan Bank Thornhill branch again!
Horrible attitude toward customers...I once talked with the branch manager there about getting a mortgage. He was so arrogant, rude, and disrespectful. Not recommend to deal with this kind of foreign bank.
Very professional and friendly staff i have ever met. Always consider the customer first. I transferred all my accounts into here because nobody suggested me at the better interest rate like here.

I called today to get information on foreign exchange, but I was told that I was asking too many questions, and the woman who answered the phone abruptly ended the call after 7 minutes saying she had to service other customers, before I could get the answers I called for. Unfortunately I could not find the number to a call centre for this bank and the branch seems to be severely under staffed. Based on this experience I will take my business else where.
Although, receiving countless snail mail claiming that I have unused funds in my Korean Shinhan bank, when I went into close my account they say that my account has been closed awhile ago. Funny, I never closed my account. I would've given a one star rating if the tellers weren't as friendly as they were!
