We took a day trip on our vacation stay at Liscombe Lodge and had an amazing experience. We have visited a few times in the past but I must say this time it was over the top special. Every shop we went into was in full theatrical mode, the stories, the dress, the staff were on point. Huge shout out to the Temperance ladies, the store keeper, the saw mill gents and the black smith shop who sent us home with a special gift as they put their craft on display.
Absolutely loved it. So many different buildings to go through, all staffed with very knowledgeable and talented individuals demonstrating how things were done/made back in the 1800s such as pottery, printing, woodturning, blacksmith etc. Buildings are authentic and actually in their original locations. I was very impressed with the village, and how friendly and informative everyone was. The Canada Day parade was really fun too, and I loved how it went right through the village! We look forward to returning!
Great place to bring the family and spend the day. You can dress in period costume and have tons of fun. There is a restaurant on site for lunch and tons of buildings to explore. Local artisans work in front of your eyes and thier crafts are for sale in the gift shop. Most amazing of all is old fashioned Christmas it is a must go, no matter where your from. There is also a motorcycle run weekend, a car show weekend and concerts by amazing musicians.
The Village is fantastic. The staff all working together this last summer was such a wonderful service. The activities for both children and adults was amazing. We were lucky enough to be present on the day of a dog show as well as the Saturday market, which were both lovely surprises. The food in their café was fabulous, and the service was tremendous. We enjoyed exploring all the buildings and talking to the staff about the Village. Can't say enough good things. We will definitely be back.
This was an amazing experience! Make sure to go get an old timey picture on glass! Can't say enough good about this place its a must see.
Sweet and charming little town, well maintained historical buildings and homes
We had a great tour of the historic village. Our guide was quite knowledgeable about the history. The blacksmith, carpenter, printer and the furniture maker were working and explained their crafts and how they maintain the authenticity of this village. Unfortunately a number of buildings were closed and many of their planned activities for their 50th anniversary are postponed until next year. If their Christmas lighting ceremony is going ahead,we'll be back.
Very nice place to visit. While due to Covid you cannot see all buildings inside, the personal tours make more than up for that. It is very nice to see how well they preserve the buildings. And mind was blown by fact that the courthouse was used as recent as 2000 and the jail as recent as 1968 and the fact one house is still occupied by a family who lived here forever. Certainly worth a stop when in the area or the drive up. They also do classes with the blacksmith and are planning classes with the wood worker/turner once covid is over.
Fantastic experience!!! Great little village and an incredibly friendly staff. I went with my wife, our two kids, my father in law, and his wife. We enjoyed every minute of our tour and learning about the history of Sherbrooke Village and the surrounding area. The exhibits were great and the gift shop sold stuff made in the village using the techniques and equipment that was used back in the day. Loved it, highly recommend it!!
Friendly welcoming staff. We arrived with our 2 labradoodles and everyone welcomed us in. It's the original Sherbrooke that has been preserved as a museum. Did not seem touristy at all. Such a small fee to enter. Don't leave without going for lunch at the hotel and try the gingerbread cake with lemon sauce....delicious. Thankyou everyone for one of our favourite stops across Canada!!!!
