Stayed at the couples resort, went for a pizza 2minutes away... nice experience, the owner was very friendly and we enjoyed listening to him. Very interesting man. The wings were great. Pizza was good. Ask for thin crust if you don’t like a lot of dough- the crust was huge!
Dont get fooled by worn out deco, best pizza before entering Algonquin. Very limited space so if the group is bigger than 8 you might have difficulty in finding a seat
Our first of many to come visits to Shelly's, was awesome. She was welcoming from the get go. Friendly, informative and she bent over backwards to ensure we were having top notch service. We chose to eat at another place the night before and instant regret. Shelly's food was fantastic especially the amazing Philly cheesesteak.. When my hubby asked about wood for sale, she went out of her way to walk him out to show him and help him with a selection. Her wood price was great too! We will definitely be repeat customers. Love the booths and diner style. Yes it is an old building but it's cozy. Places like this exemplify what getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city is all about.
I was staying at Hay Lake Lodge and Cottages and drove to Whitney for pizza. I ordered the Veggie Lovers pizza with an addition of hot peppers with thin crust and extra cheese. The pizza was very good. Next time I will request the pizza to be well done for my preference. I will go back again and try the burgers! I'm glad I indulged in my craving for pizza. It was a short picturesque drive to Whitney and my pizza order was ready in 15 minutes from the time I placed the order.
Good stop for food but the pizza we had was terrible had to throw away half of pizza. Had to take “tums”, my friend had vomiting today after having pizza. Place smelled like old oil spilled. Only good thing was the people at counter were very friendly.
We were at the couple resort and wanted to get some local food. We stopped by here and the food was delicious and satisfying. We enjoyed it. We chatted a little bit with Martin who is the current owner, very friendly and a nice person. We had a good time. We will revisit.
What a wonderful place. The owner is absolutely delightful and the food is very yummy. He was so kind to us and gave our kids a special treat at the end. We always stop there on our vacation because it’s just such a lovely experience and we always leave with a smile.
Push through the decor and get ready for some good pizza. Martin the owner is one of the friendliest business owners you will ever meet. Great for dine in or take out.
HORRIBLE!! the two young guys at the front friendly once you look past the filth and ketchup turned brown on the tables but the lady in the kitchen cooking MISERABLE mood she wanted to leave early for some local turkey dinner event so you know exactly what night last week this was and so threw our pizza RAW in the box cheese hadn't even melted and then we drive 24 km back to Algonquin - open the box and put it in the garbage when we took a few bites and found raw dough still inside. LESSON LEARNED drive in the other direction to Two Rivers Canoe store for take out food!
Rode the sleds there for lunch bag let down. Hand the philly cheese steak sandwich. Got half way through the first half and found a hair. They watched me pull it out... Never offered a new lunch but never charged for the lunch. We wont be returning
