The chicken was extremely dry. The potatoes have no seasonings. The garlic sauce is like greasy butter. Absolutely not appetizing. Very disappointed
Whent there 3 times hoping for improvement but .... nop! The food was not the best Shawarma food but still ok good. The 3 times i whent, I've asked questions about the food options and even after telling them it was my 1st time, they seem to be annoyed by any questionsso forget having suggestions. It is on the expensive side since I didn't see any special value or smaller portions. Everything is extra, I would not be surprised if they would charge extra for Ketchup! They have the TV running loudly and the best is that they don't allow customers to use the restroom it's aparently "broken" for over a year! Go explain that to your 10 years old who spend 1 hour in the car and after a few bites can't wait to go pee. They shurly whant your money but not the customers. if you're really craving for shawarma, go for it, but if you have the choice pass your turn
When people say that Ottawa is known for their Shawarma, I can say first hand that is 100% accurate...With the exception of this place. Ordered a beef shawarma plate $16.95 in which the rice was MICROWAVED. Potatoes were stale and dry, the salad was tossed separately in a bowl and 'topped' with turnips and pickles and a vinegar dressing. The lady proceeded to fill the box with large dollops of sauce/hummus and generously adding some weird garlicky salt?! Oh and who can forget the beef, it was dry and tasted old and not hot or fresh from the spit. The cashier, who I assume was the owner, was adamant I paid with cash because "the bank is closed today". Please, go elsewhere for shawarma— you’ve been warned!
Their beef or chicken shawarma plates are a must. The plate is laden with a medley of the most delicious bites of food - there’s a garlic sauce, hummus, pickled turnips, hearty potatoes, moist rice, fresh salad, and flavourful beef, all topped with the best pita chips. Ordered a family meal on the way home and picked up a chicken family dinner plater. Very disappointed as the chicken was dry and burnt Potatoes were deep fried twice like left overs. Sauce was very watery And no toboulli Pita bread was frozen. Left over rice was done in the microwave. Salad does not look fresh Absolutely disgusting and not edible and what a waste of $70 Owner refuses to provide refund and claims people love his burnt chicken and he says he has requests for burnt crispy chicken all the time . He indicated if I don’t want burnt chicken , it would be upon request . I totally understand business are struggling during Covid but no one wants to spend their hard earned money on burnt food. Food was delicious! Potatoes were crispy, beef and chicken were perfectly cooked, melted in your mouth... salad was fresh, hummus and garlic sauce was to die for. I also got the vine leaves and even they were soooooo good! Staff was very friendly and funny! Highly recommend, do yourself a favor and go there, now! You will not regret it!
Horrible customer service, both male employees were very rude !!!! They were also very stingy with the chicken and topings. Would not recommend this place !!!
Awful. Way over priced. Rude people. I got a large chicken shawarma. I ask for pickles. They put 2 slices on. I asked for more they said there would be an extra charge. I asked for garlic sauce. They put very minimal on. I asked for more. The guy put it on then the other guy said that it would be an extra charge. I was shocked. So then the guy started scrapping the garlic sauce off. Scrapping it off!!! I was shocked how poorly I was treated. Paid wayyyy to much for an extremely bland shawarma . There was barely any chicken in it. Was the smallest shawarma I have ever had. Will never ever ever ever be back. Be aware when you enter you will get slapped with a bunch of handwritten notes all over the place about not to come in with wet boots, no bathrooms, beef will cost you more etc etc. Was worst experience ever .
Not only was this THE BEST SHAWARMA I've had but the people are hands down the sweetest and kindest I've met. 10000% recommend!!! The falafel is to die for and the garlic potatoes were just amazing. Make sure to bring home their HOME MADE pickled turnip!!! Thank you Nabil for being so nice and pleasant to chat with! Will go back everytime I'm in Carleton Place!!
I actually like the shawarma here granted it's one of only shawarma options in town. Price is quite expensive compared to Ottawa shawarma but I guess there's not much option in cp. But we avoid this place for the staff. The older gentleman I assume is the owner has given us a hard time for our order, saying the garlic combo we want doesn't make sense.. They are obnoxious with signs and verbal requests you don't pay with credit card even going so far as giving you a hard time about it. We have left knowing their political views when we never asked.. There's signs indicating they never enforced mandatory masking when it was the law. They repeatedly encouraged mask removal when I wore one in. It's just such an uncomfortable experience all around, the food could be amazing but it's not worth the hassle
