The Shanty Café is a casual dining restaurant and catering business located at 6B Central Street in the heart of beautiful downtown Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
We focus on serving great meals that are flavorful and affordable. Featuring a variety of dishes inspired by
local and international cuisine, this is the perfect location for a relaxing breakfast, a delicious lunch or just a friendly gathering.

The Shanty Café is a Social Enterprise. Our parent company is the Yarmouth Association for Community Residential Options (YACRO)
Our mission? To bring authentic, real food to our community, providing meaningful jobs for people who face barriers to employment.

Come on down, try our all-day breakfast, sandwiches made with our famous Shanty buns, or get adventurous and enjoy a bowl of authentic black
bean soup and a Cubano sandwich.

Such a delicious lunch spot I got the Moro Burger which was 10/10. My only wish is for them to open later or on weekends
A winner! The samosa was fabulous and is a meal in itself. The Cuban Black Bean Soup was just fine. The breakfast sandwich on whole wheat was great. We will be back!

Such a great spot in Yarmouth! I visited while on the Yarmouth Goodie Walking Tour and loved the cooperative concept and the incredible food available here. Definitely a must eat at spot in Yarmouth! Be sure to check out their store next door.
Absolutely love this place! Excellent food with a bit of Cuban flair, scrumptious fresh baked breads and a great community supporter. The Shanty is a must visit that won't break the bank just your waistline.
We had breakfast here and ordered bacon and eggs. They were very good, and I could hardly finish all the bacon that was on my plate. I would eat here often if I lived in the area.
Great place. Nothing better.
