I’ve never had such horrible horrible food! We ordered the fried rice, it was cheap boiled rice, not fried with a can of mushrooms dumped on the top. The chowmein was the same, boiled noodles and a can of mushrooms dumped on the top. I’ve never encountered anything like it, just unreal! I’ve had bad food before, but never ever this bad. Just because the staff might be friendly doesn’t make it good, how anyone could give this place a good review could only be that they were paid. It really is that bad. Take this warning and try somewhere else, or buy it at the grocery store and cook it yourself.
Worst Chinese food ever. That is if you want to call it Chinese food. The special chowmein was not special at all in fact the noodles vegetables and what ever they are trying to pass off as chicken looked like they were boiled. They then dumped canned mushrooms on top with boiled pond shrimp. Tasted and smelled like it was all cooked in mop water. The honey garlic pork was tough. How do you make pork tough. Anyone giving this place a good review is either paid or has no taste buds or smell.
I never review restaurants but I had to with this one. Honestly I wasn't expecting much eating out at a Chinese restaurant in northern BC. But holy cr** I couldn't even eat three bites. I've been to China and have ate at many Chinese restaurants in the world this has by far been the worst one. The chow mein had no sauce ! It came out looking like pasta. The chicken was not chicken it was turkey. The fried rice was not fired and came with old hard stale eggs. WHY in the world did my order come with gravy???????? Obviously the owners of this store haven't opened any of their fortune cookies. I feel bad writing this review but it's the truth.
The food was so disappointing, I ordered beef fried rice and beef chow mein and both were incredibly plain but then had this weird gravy sauce on top of the beef, which tasted so bad, since I took a risk not knowing what the food was like I just took all the beef off the top and just ate it plain. Also over priced for the small portions you receive. Now that I know I won’t be ordering from here again.
This is the worst chinese food I have ever had. Extremely high priced. Saturated in salt in every dish. The smallest portions. I know this is a small community, that shouldn't mean we get the worst product for the highest price. Even if the owners offered me free food due to the this review.. I would not eat it!
Was gonna do no star...but I had to do one. That server tonight was not nice. I was explaining to her that one of the ribs tasted sour" she acted like I was lying. I said " I'm not trying to get out of paying, but letting you know, I will still pay. She neglected us through our meal and for sure I won't ever be going there again. And if I'm sick tommorow...she will be hearing from me. So angry.
I ordered mushroom fried rice. They fried the rice and then dumped a can of mushrooms on top and being such great cooks they dumped all the juice in the can on top of the rice as well. MMmmm fried rice topped with the rubbery goodness of canned mushroom slices and the salt in the juice to help preserve the mushrooms really brings the dish together in a soggy salty rubbery cornucopia of a "authentic" chinese flavours. So the next time you get a craving for delicious chinese cuisine, go to POLLY'S CAFE instead.
i can see the owners are getting close to retirement, i want to thank them for never changing how they make their food. been going there for at least 30 years that i can remember and i have been getting the same things every time. too bad they can't keep servers though,
Awesome food, fresh n timely. Great service very friendly...
Food and service is ok. No burgers for kids if they don't want Chinese food.
