Sexsmith Heritage Park

What great campsite for a stay with little kids! Mini golf and fishing pond and of course a park at $30 a night in a full power site ! You can’t beat it when passing thru northern alberta !

I wish I could say more good things about this campground because it has great potential but it could be taken care of better. Cleaning staff for the bathrooms do the bare minimum. The shower curtains have not been cleaned or changed all summer. Squashed bugs on the walls, muddy footprints on the toilet tank and tp dispenser have not been cleaned up after many weeks... and since they are open to the public unlike some other campgrounds which restrict use to paid campers there is often park sand and mud all over the sink and floor... and there seems to be transients who make their way out here to make use of the facilities.nnI would warn people not to trust the website. I have discussed this with the town office but they have little to no care for the accuracy. If you are coming for the weekend or a quick overnight you are likely not concerned about the wifi which the website purports they offer. If you are planning to stay long-term: BE WARNED! There is only third-party wifi which is a paid subscription that DOESN'T WORK. The town will NOT help you get your money back. They wash their hands of the whole situation. I have contacted the third-party company providing the wifi and got the run-around, but no refund! It's not a huge sum, but it's about the principle. They have very poor customer service. The lady from the town whom I spoke to on the phone kept interrupting me!nnThe minigolf is free and you get what you pay for. As other reviews mention, the balls and clubs are not guaranteed and the clubs if there are not putters. The playground could use an update, for sure. The off-leash park is a nice addition, unfortunately, some people seem to believe the whole campground is their animal's private backyard. The firewood provided is discarded lumber. Most of the firepits are often filled with garbage.nnIf you are looking for a place to stop overnight on your travels, it will do.

I took my grandchildren to the park today, after calling to inquire about it. The lady I spoke to said it had mini golf, a fishing pond and a playground. We were super excited, but sorely disappointed. The playground equipment was not new by any means. Mostly rusted metal. There were only 3 golf clubs and not suitable for putting, and no balls. The fishing pond was gated and closed with a lock. It would have been helpful if the lady shared the info about needing to bring our own putters and balls and that the fishing pond was closed.nI gave one star because the washrooms were nice and clean.

Just fantastic. Playgrounds, trails, showers, fishing pond, power and water, sani dump at park entrance, nice little sites and great pricing.

Overall I can't say enough good things about the campground itself, between the washrooms with free showers, the stocked fishing pond, day use area, mini golf, it's enough to keep the kids busy while you relax, power and water at each site, the sites are a little close together for my liking, but it's a beautiful park. Love staying here.
