Small location but friendly and efficient staffnThis Service Ontario branch inside Staples is very small — just three desks — so don’t expect a large waiting area. That said, the staff were friendly and did their best to move things along on time. If you don’t have an online appointment, I highly recommend going early in the morning because it gets busy fast.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Service Ontario with Nadia! My husband and I went there to apply for our OHIP, and from start to finish, she provided outstanding service.nnNadia was extremely professional, patient, and kind. She explained the entire process clearly, answered all of our questions, and made what could have been a stressful and bureaucratic experience feel smooth and stress-free. You can truly tell that she cares about her work and about the people she helps.nnWe highly recommend Nadia to anyone who needs assistance at Service Ontario. Her exceptional service truly makes a difference, especially for newcomers to Canada. Thank you so much, Nadia!
Worst place you could possibly go. Be prepared to waste 6–7 hours of your day just waiting, only to deal with staff who seem completely untrained, unprofessional, and uninterested in helping. While people are packed inside waiting for hours, some staff are on personal phone calls, disappearing into the back rooms, and avoiding work altogether. You can see 30–50 people in line with barely one person actually serving, and the rest “hiding” in offices. Then, an hour before closing, they suddenly announce they won’t be able to serve anyone else—after people have already wasted their entire day waiting. Where is the accountability? How is this acceptable? If this is the standard of service, we are in serious decline.
I was just there tonight, Monday the 22th 2025 at 7:40pm. I went to get a ticket place holder but the system was shut down for the night as the number of people who had tickets and had not yet been served would take them to closing time. I spoke with someone who had been waiting since 2:30 in the afternoon!!! I don't blame the onsite staff. The damn government has closed so many of the Service Ontario outlets. They want you to do everything online which is fine, however, there is still a need for direct interaction when it comes to such things as picking up hard copies of ownership's etc.. I give the government agency responsible for the oversight of SERVICE ONTARIO a ONE STAR rating. I returned the very next day at 8am to be sure I had a place in line. I was number 2. By the time the doors opened at 9 there was at least 30 people behind me. I am giving the FIVE STARS to Nathalie who served me at the Service Ontario desk. She was cheerful, polite, pleasant and very professional. A much needed breath of fresh air when dealing with any government entity. Thank you Nathalie!
