I accompanied my husband for his SIN but the behaviour of the staff specifically the One who issued SIN was so rude. He should know that new immigrants needs some time to get familiar with the system. He was in rush and the way he spoke was totally unacceptable. He literally shouted which i felt very insulted .:-nHowever, other staff and security was so nice and humble.
The staff are very nice and professional, the security is also managing the line well.nnWe arrived at 8:05AM on a Thursday morning, already 10 people ahead of us. They opened at 8:30AM on time, and by that time there are around 50 people waiting.nnWe were served at 8:40 for the document check, and they called us at 8:45 for the interview and payment. Everything is done before 9AM. This is quicker than my expectation!
I was apprehensive about going to this location to renew my passport after reading all the mixed reviews. I got to the line around 8:25, 5 mins before opening, and there was a line to the end of the building. Once the office opened at 8:30, we all got to go in and had to kind of “check in” at the front where they asked what we were there for, looked over my application, etc. The line to check in moved pretty quick and my turn to go up came about 15 mins in, which is super quick in my opinion considering how many people were in front of me. The guy helping me was nice and helped me with the few things I missed on my application. In the past, whenever I’ve gone in anywhere with an application, they’ve made me go home and fix it and come back, so this was realllly nice. He gave me a number and told me to wait until I was called up. My number was called like 2 mins into me sitting down. The lady looking over and processing my application, Wendy, was super kind and I was done within 5 mins of sitting down. By 9:00 I was out of there! Way less time than I was expecting. I’m not doubting the bad reviews, but it seems like they’ve improved on all the things people have mentioned.nSide note: I was considering doing express passport, but I didn’t even need to, apparently my passport will be ready to pick up in under 2 weeks!
I got there around 8AM and the office opened at 8:30AM. There were about 30 people in front of me. I had filed my passport application and was free around 9:45AM. As soon as the office opened, everything was efficient and quick. The issue was with one of the workers Debbie, she was speaking like I knew nothing and sounded very condescending. Poor and rude behaviour, I have read other reviews and everyone has the same issue. No customer service or a friendly attitude, it seemed to be only her as I interacted with couple other workers and they were amazing. I was able to handle but some people may not, filing for passport is stressful as it is to make sure we have all the documents and don’t have to wait in line again but Debbie makes it even more stressful.
I had an excellent experience at the Service Canada office on High Way 10 in Surrey, BC. The staff was knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly, providing efficient and personalized service. Highly recommended for their commitment to customer care!
