Sequoia Coffee 675 Belleville Street Victoria, BC V8WA1 This Coffee place is similar to Starbuck Restaurant. I had camel mariato coffee and some banana bread. I also ordered a slice of coffee cake and cranberry pastry to take back to my Hotel room for later. Oh!! It was delicious !!! This restaurant is part of the Royal museum.
Great coffee, but a bit overpriced. It can get very busy on weekdays, but there is a lot of seating as part of the museum. Some very comfortable sofas and tables. The staff is very friendly and they also have a reward system with a punch card. The baked items and salads are also good.
Although I had a really good cup of coffee, I had to return my ham & cheese sandwich since the bread was so stale I could hardly bite through it. It was replaced with a “ fresh one “ which the server microwaved to make it seem less stale; it too was at least a day old! Although the server was very pleasant and the coffee was excellent, I’d be reluctant to ever eat there again. I’m surprised that such an important venue would serve substandard food.
Awesome coffee from local roaster, had the oat milk latte and Tofu protein bowl, both tasted amazing. The space is somewhat busy with school children. There was a small dinosaur pocket gallery, Totem Poles, and John Lennon's Rolls Royce in the main lobby - Lots to see.
Came to the museum for a business meeting and stopped at this café, Long line-up first thing in the morning, but staff were fast and efficient managing the volume. Ordered the Too Hot To Handle with Cheddar Scone...both were very flavourful. Too hot is quite spicy, perfect on a chilly morning.
Ordered a Cortado and a Chicken and Brie melt. Suffice to say the experience was underwhelming and I expect better from the gift shop/foyer of a museum. The Cortado - Way too foamy. “Barista” obviously doesn’t know what a Cortado is. The espresso was bitter, weak, lacked conviction. The Chicken and Brie Melt - Too crunchy, bordering on stale. The chicken was mealy and cold, despite the attendant warming up the sandwich. The sandwich was cut asymmetrically making it difficult to eat. There was so much aoli in the sandwich that when I bit down on the crusty, asymmetrical bun, the aioli shot out, covering my jeans in oily sandwich excrement. I had to endure this look for the rest of my trip since I only brought one pair of jeans.
Poor customer service - won't be back again! It was towards the end of the day and there were hardly any other customers around. We ordered 2 drinks to enjoy on the comfy couches. I kept looking over to see if our drinks were ready. After 10 minutes, I went closer, and realized that from where we were sitting, it was not possible to see if drinks were ready. Turns out the drinks had been sitting there all along, getting cold. They weren't labelled and so I had to ask which drink was which. I was disappointed the barista didn't let us know when our drinks were ready, like most other coffeeshops I've been to or worked at. I had a mocha and was disappointed with how bitter it was. I wish I had not left a tip!
The eternal mystery of a tourist attraction cafe closing earlier on weekends than weekdays.
While this coffee shop obviously caters to museum-goers, the regulars are primarily government employees from the surrounding offices who get a discount!. The coffee is pretty good, the prices are a bit high, but the service is excellent. They are fast, efficient and you never have to wait long for your gourmet coffee to be ready. The tasty treats are tasty - I love the power spheres! It's a great place to unwind briefly before heading back to the office.
Good coffee and they have milk alternatives as well like oat milk
