Select Grill

Food is meh. It is eatable but nothing noticeable, for 20 bucks, you can get a whole steak bento or much better meals taste and portion wise at any restaurant on skip the dishes. Like sure lobster is expensive but why are the potatoes sweet like honey, steak like sliced salami. Hello?

Today is March 19,2022 we wanted to order our usual beef lunch combo from Select Grill. Unfortunately it looks closed lights off, drinks were not stocked and there was envelop bills on the counter still.

This is my favorite restaurant in the dixie mall food court. The food is always fresh. I love the variety of meats they have to choose from. You customize your salad. Choose your sauce for the meat. Choose your carb... I usually get the steak and shrimp with rice or noodles. Always tastes delicious.

I'll be honest I don't know why the rating is so low for this place? The quality it pretty good the food was delicious the portions were generous the price was right I don't get it? For less money spent at McDonald you get a good amount for your dollar n plus the food taste great. I just wish there were more of them around. It also gave me a similar feeling of the kind of food you'do eat at a mall somewhere in Asian.

We eat here every time we visit Dixie Outlet Mall. I never had issues when the asian lady was there except that she wasn't very friendly but didn't bother me much. The very last time I visited, I ordered 2 plates. The kitchen staff messed up my order and blamed me for it. There was a gentleman behind me with a similar order of meat and they gave me his! Then when they realized, the lady at the grill began to accuse me of doing wrong! I was very upset. Then she said because I took the other order that I wouldn't get the additional meat and shrimp that I paid for! On top of that she messed up my second plate and put rice instead of fries and sauces. I was angry and began to argue with her. She should know what she is doing instead of blaming the customer for HER mistake. The lack of customer service is a joke! Finally, one of the other younger staff members realized I was unhappy and tried to make it right. Thank you to her. The rice was cold and the deep fried shrimp was frozen from the inside. I use to enjoy their food but my last experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Literally. I will not be returning.

I have visited Select Grill over 15 years ago and again yesterday while shopping at the mall. Not one thing has changed. First off the people who work there are extremely friendly and nice, second they have great portion sizes for the price and to a certain degree it just taste good. Long lines due to the bang for the buck and taste and the fact that the nice old lady on the grill needs to retire and pass on the helm, this will increase input/output. Last but not least, the place needs to be kept cleaner and the grill needs to be cleaned more often after cooking, especially seeing it is in plain sight.

Overall the food is good but I have a couple of issues with Select Grill. First issue is cleanliness. Its kitchen could use some good cleaning. Second is about the deceiving pricing. It says on its menu that soft drinks are included but cost $0.5 extra if you want the pop in a can. The deceiving part is, it doesn't have a soft drink fountain so you have to get the pop in a can. And, they charge you $0.5 more for the included drink. If you don't want the pop, they don't give you a discount for the soft drink they can't provide you. This is deceiving.

Spare ribs are amazing to say the least it's a shame the staff kill the experience with the old Asian lady it was amazing she was kinda, nice and very friendly. With the brown lady working here it is awful she was on a phone call on her personal phone and asked if she could take our order when we said yes she asked me what do I want I told her I wanted my spare ribs with fries she's stopped me mid way and turned around to talk on the phone. Then came back and I finish my order as my father ordered he was up set because he keept correcting the same mistakes she made so he asked only rice and was clear and she said ok rice and fries then he said only rice and she started adding sauces from no where then they took so long. until they remove some staff and learn to treat customers I would not come. This is a real shame as there spare ribs are really good.

Im a very long time customer and i work in the mall. I eat there a lot. when the small asian guy and the owner lady work there they serve really good portions and they are really friendly but when the tall asian guy works there he is reallly really rude and not friendly at all and serves the smallest portions ive ever had even knowing im a long time customer that works in the mall. When i see him working there i avoid this place even if im craving their food.

Staff is very Rude and will swear at you if you change your mind while ordering. Not a place I would go to in the food court. They were the best place before they changed owners. Current staff is discourteous and rude. Some of them should not even be working in retail.
