Incredible vegan sushi platter! Best we’ve ever had! Wish they had a location in Victoria. We can’t wait to go back tomorrow for a visit. Here are some photos from the last times we went. Thanks for the incredible food!
Food was amazing and service was fast! Definitely a must when in Port Alberni. The outdoor exterior could use some work, but the inside was nice and cozy.
Absolutely the best Sushi on Vancouver Island.... the lunchtime Sashimi is my absolute favourite ... if you drive by its your loss ... As good or better than anywhere in Vancouver I highly recommend this place
Best Sushi On The Island From the outside the place brought concern, but once entering the food and service was bar none. Delicious and high quality sushi with nice presentation and a great price. This was certainly an unexpected find and will be coming back every time I am in Port Alberni. Get a pint of the Swedish Gymnast to wash it all down.
If you have any allergies then don’t eat here!! We have a anaphylactic sesame allergy and have requested no sesame seeds on our sushi. Not once but on three separate occasions we have discovered that our food was covered and I mean covered in sesame seeds! Blatant disrespect and putting us In danger. I cannot trust this restaurant anymore!
Stopped by for takeout after visiting the hole in the wall hike nearby. The food is absolutely delicious and the sushi is super fresh. Lunch specials are an amazing value! I'm from Vancouver where there are pretty high standards for Japanese food, and I can confidently say that this is better than most sushi that you'll find in Vancouver. The outside looks a little sketchy but the food is so good, highly recommended!
My family and I use to pass though Port Alberni nearly every summer going camping and this stop is always on the list. I've got a major craving for sushi everywhere I go and this always hits the spot before we venture out for the week. The two photos below are my go-to dish the salmon combo from 2 years apart and you can see that quality and portion size withstood the test of time. We've been there with groups from 2-10 and they've always accommodated accordingly. Can be a little slow as I've only ever seen 2 servers working at once but for a small town that's acceptable. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through.
Take out order - Bento box, tempura prawns, chicken teriyaki, rice, sunomono salad, miso soup. Great presentation for take out, food is always fresh and good serving. So good !
Kind of a shady looking building, but the food here is amazing. Been several times while passing through Port Alberni, and the food is always excellent. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the fact that they default to a 20% tip when paying by debit/credit, which I cannot stand.
I had the Lunch box A! Sooo yummy. Service was great. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options.
