Great restaurant to celebrate, bring your loved ones and try a great drink with an outstanding dish. The secco fries are amazing, the truffle is always there but it's never overwhelming. Fried calamari are great as well if you like something spicy. Portions are not huge but all your senses will be invited in every dish. Cocktails are amazing, I was planning to have a Prosecco flight but these babies are addictive, especially the Goldie if you like spicy and sour. Parking in the neighborhood is easy and free around the corner.
A truly wonderful culinary experience. The food, atmosphere, drinks and service were second to none! The food itself was exquisite, with beautiful flavors and appetizing presentation. We heartily enjoyed each and every bite, as well as every last sip. Especially of note were the hanger steak, truffle gnocchi and albacore tuna. Cannot wait for our next dining experience here!
Good service, exceptional food/drink options, and a great atmosphere. I ordered the moon child purple and Sabrina pink cocktails. Then, for mains, we had the roasted scallops and Hanger steaks. Lots of unique and delicious flavours! I highly recommend coming here
This little gem was a nice surprise! The drinks were definitely the best part of the evening along with the oysters. Very intimate space but did get quite loud because the other diners. Our steak did come a little charred but our server worked quickly to fix that. Definitely recommend for a nice social get together.Food: 4/5
We had a lovely birthday dinner here tonight. Service was very attentive, especially towards dietary restrictions. My fiancee absolutely loved her vegetarian truffle pasta; said it was the best she has ever had - big kudos to the chef! My lobster risotto was satisfying too and hit the spot. Cocktails were also delicious and the bartender put on a great show mixing the drinks; he was even kind enough to hang our jackets when we arrived. The owner was also very generous to offer us a complimentary vegetarian brownie dessert when he found out it was my fiancees birthday. Thanks again! Definitely worth a visit!
Such amazing service and a great location in the heart of Hamilton. I loved the atmosphere as it was both quiet and lively in the best ways possible. It is not a huge place, as most places downtown are not, but the space feels open and welcoming but also intimate. We went during the week for dinner and it was very quiet which was nice, as I've seen it gets quite busy on the weekends. You are able to phone and make reservations if you wanted to but I don't think it would be necessary unless you wanted to get a prime time spot for dinner. I would highly recommend the Brussel sprouts, the cavatappi and of course the baked brie! The drink menu is fantastic with a lot of variety with something for everyone. The drink menu mainly focuses on proseccohence the name. Vegetarian options were pretty good, will definitely be back! If you are a local this is a great date night or friends night out spot. They also do brunch, which I haven't been back yet to try but based on my past experience and what is on the menu, I have no doubt it would be just as great also.
Tried Secco this week after a recommendation from a friend and have to say it was a great experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very classy, clean, yet dark and industrial. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The oysters unfortunately not pictured were the best we have had in the area, also highly recommend the calamari. We shared the beef short rib and the Szechuan noodle bowl with steak, both were very delicious and filling. Needless to say we didn’t leave hungry or unhappy. Great little spot for a date night. Would highly suggest you check out Secco if ever in the hamilton area.
I came for brunch twice at this location and arrived 15 minutes early both times. The server was kind enough to seat me upon arrival, which is much appreciated. Drinks don't miss at this location, from coffee to cocktails. The coffee is brewed fresh for every order. The raspberry/lychee mimosa is consistently delicious. Food takes about 25-30 minutes to arrive after the server inputs your order. Ube Prosecco Pancakes: huge hit and well balanced. The portion is large enough for leftovers. Big Breakfast V: description mentioned grapefruit brulé but received an orange. The fruit was easy to get out of the peel. Home fries and shakshuka were on the salty side. Bigger Breakfast: it came with an additional side of bacon, which we weren't charged for. Thank you! Home fries were on the salty side. Portion is also large enough for left overs. Oysters Rockefeller: 4 small oysters baked with cheese. Great starter. Secco Benny: delicious hollandaise, and the seafood is cooked perfectly. Home fries were on the salty side. Notes to the restaurant: - Please watch which tables are seated first and place orders accordingly. We waited 15 minutes after all our party was seated for our order to be taken. Another smaller table was seated after us and their order was taken before us. - Have one more person on staff to help alleviate the customer wait time for food service. - 20% as the suggested tip on the POS is too high. Please modify to 15%. Parking: 3hr free street parking on MacNab St. S Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Stairs are required to enter the space.
Sexy little spot on James south serving up delicious food and drinks in a swanky atmosphere. Small place that's intimate and great for datesFood: 5/5
If I could give this restaurant 10/5 stars I would. This was an incredible experience. We showed up for our anniversary dinner without a reservation definitely make a reservation in advance and they managed to squeeze us in at the bar. This is a small restaurant, but with a welcoming, unpretentious, but still stylish decor and ambiance. The bartender was experienced, right off the bat you could tell he knew his way around a cocktail. And the cocktails! So good! I can’t recommend the Goldie enough. The food. Omg the food. This is a treat for your senses, a real experience. The flavours are deep, well-balanced and oh so satisfying. This restaurant prides itself on offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options and the menu did not disappoint. I have never been happier with grilled tofu, and the truffle Mac and cheese with oyster mushroom chips! I don’t even like mushrooms and I will be dreaming about this dish for days to come. Seriously delicious, our compliments to the kitchen, the bartender and the host. I 200% recommend this experience. We’ve already booked our next night out here and I can’t wait!
