My father brought back a pair of newly purchased glasses to the store to have one of the screws fixed as they kept coming loose. The salesperson by the name of Kit kept saying that it is not an emergency and he should come back another day. My dad was the only customer in the store. My father explained that he had to travel a long way to get to the store, but was told that she was too busy to help him. As they were talking two customers walked into the store to buy glasses. The salesperson immediately ignored my father and started helping them. Overall a very negative experience with Sears and their optical service
Gong show - describes my experience with the customer service here. I've only gone into this store 2 times in the past couple of years and both times have been severely disappointed. First involved the photo centre. Went to get family photos done and also requested some passport photos not realizing how much they would be $23 vs. $15.99 at Walmart. I asked if I should take my glasses off and was advised that it wan't a problem. After spending $16 to courier my application to QC I received a rejection letter in the mail 3 weeks later because I was wearing glasses in the passport photo. Trying to get someone to take ownership of the problem and offer to pay for the repeat courier charges? Nothing, despite assurances the portrait studio manager would contact me to follow up. Next experience involved finding a set of bedsheets online for 60% off. Called store to see if in stock. "yes they're here". Go to store and pick out the exact set of sheets. Not on sale in store. Show the online ad to salesperson on my smartphone - not good enough. Then have to wander around store with salesperson looking for an internet terminal to print off ad so that maybe she can call a manager to approve sales price. No managers to be found. Also, because the online product description has one word different in the name the salesperson was convinced it was a different product. After giving up trying to find a manager she directs me to the catalogue order department to purchase sheets through them because she can't give me the sheets at the sales price. Catalogue person is friendly enough but after multiple phone calls to head office can't figure out how to order the sheets in the color I want. Eventually calls me up an hour later having figured out how to order sheets but they won't be delivered for 3 weeks - even though I had the exact same set in my hands but they won't give to me for sales price. Eventually agree to order through catalogue and first set of sheets have arrived at sales price and are exact same set I carried around the store for an hour looking for a manager to approve a purchase of at the sales price. Overall, multiple demonstrations of incompetence at multiple levels from initial sales people to management. Don't know how brick and mortar stores expect to survive in this day and age. Addendum - submitted the above review to their online customer service review and we were contacted and offered a gift certificate to cover the cost of the courier for the passport photos and apologies on behalf of the staff and assurances that they would try and work on these issues.
Friendly and helpful staff. The optometrist discovered my high eye pressures and referred me to a specialist. Saved my eyesight
Helpful staff, optometrist on site.
