I looked at the google reviews for this place before going and saw that there were many comments about the slow service. We went anyway. The people running the place were friendly and the ambience was really nice, beautiful views. The service was really slow. We couldn't understand it as all the other tables had already either gotten their food or were about to leave. When ours finally arrived 40 minutes later the burgers and fries were cold. This is likely a capacity issue- trying not to hire more people, or lack of good planning for flow of getting meals out on time. With a little bit of work I think the service could easily be improved so that they could take this place to the next level. GREAT place otherwise.

The menu here is pretty standard fare, but I give this place high marks for many other reasons. For one, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is therefore cheery and inviting. The location is great, as it's right on the water, so on a sunny day, the view is gorgeous. My favorite thing, however, is the fact that you can rent kayaks directly from the cafe, and the price is probably the lowest in town. The catch is that the kayaking is self-serve, meaning you need to gear up and launch/recover the boats yourself, so it's not for beginners. However, if you're an experienced kayaker, you'll have no problem, and the inlet is a gorgeous place to paddle.

They make some awesome wraps. Try the chicken ceaser wrap. In my opinion though, I wouldn't do the chowder again. It's more like a liquid drink then a creamy chowder. I could be picky though. Great place!

Great little breakfast spot in a relatively unknown area. Brentwood Bay is secluded, and one of the warmest spots near Victoria. Often 3-5 degrees warmer than Victoria, and 5-10 warmer than Sooke. Very little wind, so you can eat on the water and not freeze. This place has a garage door opening onto the Bay, so it's weather protected, but still "outside". Fairly limited selection, but well done, and friendly.

What a fantastic find! After the butchart gardens, we were hungry and wanted same wholesome comfort food. Seahorses did not disappoint. The chowder is not to be missed. Get the bowl. Trust me the cup isn't enough. The beer battered fish is battered and fried to order. This made - to - order makes the fish hot and crispy and just delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very happy.
