A Nice Place to Relax and Enjoy After a Round of Golf.... My husband and I came here after a round of golf, and we both had the fish tacos which were really good. I enjoyed a 1/2 pint of Sangria, and the view of Lake Winnipeg from the patio on the beach was wonderful. Our food came out quickly, and our waitress was very nice and friendly too. We will be back!
We came for the first time. Excellent food and prices for a hotel. Fast service, and beautiful presentation of the food. Will come again next time.
Arrived at 4:45pm and was advised that no seating was available due to an hour wait time for food. No wait list was being done until 5pm. Arrived at 5:03pm and was advised that they were closing the patio in order to catch up on orders, but they could seat us inside. Wait...what?? Yes, that was the illogical reasoning for not being able to sit on the patio. My guest and I sat inside, with a window seat adjacent to the patio. Yep, a much better way to catch-up with the food orders. On to the meal... Pickerel Cheeks to start with a Marble Rye Rueben with fries for me. My guest ordered a Club Sandwich on a tortilla with poutine. The Pickerel Cheeks were spot on. They were warm and provided the right amount of flavour and texture mixtures. The Marble Rye Rueben with fries and a side of gravy was a bit of a let down. The Rueben was hot and flavourful, but this was ruined by the salty and soggy fries. The Club Sandwich wrap was tasty and warm. However, it too was offset by those same salty and soggy fries...only made worse by the heavy beef gravy that drowned the entire bowl. Parting comments: Our food was served in a reasonable time, while folks continued to be seated. The waitstaff were overheard commenting on how "they were glad that summer is coming to an end..it couldn't come soon enough!" Such an odd comment from a staff member who makes their living off of a tourism location.
Wow! Such a good place! Keeps an older and humble look, but don’t let it trick you, this is a VERY GOOD place to eat in. Fresh and perfectly cooked ingredients. Their Fish N’ Chips is one of the best I’ve had in my life! Good and friendly service.
Good presentation and fast service. The staff are friendly and accomodating. We come and stay once or twice a year and it's always a pleasure to eat at this restaurant. From the breakfast to the dinner menu, everything is great! Good portion size and reasonable pricing. Wonderful place for family to get together and enjoy a nice meal.
My wife and I stopped in on August long weekend for drinks and a snack. My wife has celiac disease and the server Seth, was quite knowledgeable and was aware of potential cross contamination with their fryers. We ordered the nachos and the Harvest Sangria. My wife had taken her first bite when the manager came running. She informed my wife that the nachos were not guaranteed safe from cross contamination after all. Our server was devastated. She came back with the gluten free menu and helped my wife pick a safe snack. She went with the pickerel cheeks which came with gluten free toast. The food was awesome. The server let us know there would be no charge for anything and they were deeply apologetic. We will definitely return!
Patio has a great view. Food was good, no complaints, but it was pretty standard. Lovely place to eat outdoors in summer. Too many flies on the patio, though. Not sure if anything can be done. I didn't take stars away for that. Our server was really nice.
Great service and good food! We ordered the garlic shrimp amazing!! and stuffed pickerel and chicken fettuccine pictured. Fish was fresh and food was well prepared and filling. Server was friendly and awesome at her job! Also probably the fanciest you get in Gimli, would recommend.
My husband had a fly grilled into his garlic bread... There was no apology given, no fresh bread offered, and when we paid we asked if we could be given some sort of compensation and we got 10% off my husbands meal. The rest of the food was good, and the service was good other than the fly incident. Probably won't come here again, other restaurants in the Gimli area are so much better!
Great omelet minus the one old black edge of a solo pepper chunk. Dried out orange slice. I’d recommend asking for well done potatoes, they were cooked but barely at best. some crispness would be nice. Place has old cafeteria feel with beat tables with new chairs. Cleanliness of place could improve for not being busy. Not best value. But ok
