Staff are not very friendly or personable. During my 4 night stay I found the elevator constantly being used by workers bringing cabinets in. There was never any consideration to guests leaving the stairs the only option. I also found the workers doing the renovations to be unfriendly. The suite I was in was not sound proof and I could hear every sound clearly from the neighboring room as well as the hallway and outside traffic.nLocation is good with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Parking is good
When we got to our room it looked like it was mid-reno. The fire alarm was taped over, the outlet covers were removed, the bedside table was covered in dust, the phone was completely disconnected from the wall. It also looked like it hadn’t been cleaned - there was hair in the bed and crumbs on the floor. I immediately felt uncomfortable and even though I’ve never once complained about a room, we went to the front desk to note the issues and ask for a new room. The front desk worker was immediately defensive, rude, and raised his voice at us while he belittled the issues we noted. He told us we couldn’t expect things to be perfect while they were doing a shitty renovation which we were not notified of before-hand. We were given a second room and immediately noticed the same issues AND a dirty sock left in the room. I felt we couldn’t trust them at this point to provide a clean room so we went back to the desk to ask for a refund - he was snarky, dismissive and refused to provide a receipt for the refund. Terrible experience.
We spent one restful night here. The quality of the beds were average. The room was clean.nnDefinitely a hotel that has seen better days and to remain profitable will need a major renovation. The balcony in the room we ended up staying in needs major work when it comes to the railing and deck. The room fridge could be bigger with a better sized freezer compartment. As well, there needs to be more electrical outlets to accommodate clients digital/electrical devices. I am sure management is aware of these and other deficiencies.nnWe need to commend the staff who graciously switched rooms for us when we discovered our initial room was across the hall from the elevator.nnFor the cost to stay overnight, it was reasonable. But be aware you get what you pay for.
staff was wonderful and the rooms were exactly what you’d think for the price. the rooms were clean and big enough for 2 adult people to stay comfortably for a few days. I don’t understand some of these reviews saying bad things about the staff because they were nothing but kind and absolutely accommodating.
I was very disappointed with how unclean the room and bathroom were. The hair blower didn’t work. The towels and facecloths were not replaced. There was a hole in the coverlet. The curtain rod was broken & on the floor. The dust buildup on the lightshade was disgraceful. I would not spend money there ever again. The area however is beautiful & ideal for hiking, biking & outdoor activities
