This a neat place. The visitor center and the monument are focused on the Oregon-California-Mormon Trail period. The roadway to the top of the Bluff is great. The vistas from the top are outstanding. The trails leading back down are worth the effort. If you are up to it, go for it. Locals have built a Nebraska Pioneer farm tourist site right on the border of the national monument grounds. I have added a couple of photos of the red buildings at that site.

We were on a trip and decided to follow the Oregon Trail back home. I had been looking for a opportunity to check it out without driving 6 hours to get here. This small park exceeded my expectations greatly. There are driving and hiking trials which can offer tremendous view of the area. There is a museum and gift shop as well. My daughter loves the Jr. Ranger program and the offer a badge there. Our original plan was to swing by for a photo op but we didn't a bit over 90 minutes exploring and learning. It was really well done. They are redoing several display cases so it should be interesting to see what is coming up.

Thoroughly enjoyed this stop along the Oregon Train on the way back home from an out west car trip. We drove up to the top, through the only three road tunnels in Nebraska, for great views. One thing we wished we had planned to do was to walk down the Saddle Mountain trail, but we didn't have the time. It goes 1.6 miles from the visitor center to the top of Scotts Bluff, with a foot tunnel in Saddle Mountain. Takes abut an hour to go down, and over an hour to hike up. I would definitely plan to do that on my next visit here.

Beautiful and picturesque and great facilities. We went here the day before the American eclipse and it really makes you appreciate the beuatiful landscape and the early days of western homesteaders.

A beautiful place that is worth the time to visit and explore. We drove up to the top and sat in the car, enjoying the view. Then we got out and explored the trails and marveled at the hikers coming up the trail. If I had more time I would have taken the trails as well. For next time I visit!
