Went to the pool a few days ago here. My experience was poor The lifeguards were somewhat rude at points, in the pool and at the concession. Around 12:30 my family went to grab a bite at the concession. I must say the prices were very reasonable, and I was fairly happy with the quality of the food. One complain about the concession was it took 20 minutes for 1 pizza to come out! Anyway the pool consisted of a baby pool and sprinklers for younger kids, a very very big pool area, 2 nice slides, and 3 diving boards. The pool itself is decent but the workers as I said above were ride at some points. Overall it is a good pool to take most kids too.

Great place to camp if you have Scott county plates. One park ranger stopped asked where my fire wood was from I replied Clinton county you need to burn it all right now. So we did. Then purchased the firewood they sell and it is from Clinton county. Then had one tire on the grass had to move the vehicle. Lastly so far still have one night left got pulled over for having people in the back of the truck. If this happens to you the law is the city of Davenport has no riding in back of pickup truck not the whole Scott county. That aside nice camping lots to do very quiet.

4.5 stars, really. Good hikes. Walnut Grove Village is extremely well maintained and kept all the kids' interest. There is no playground (which is the first thing my eldest looks for), but that was probably the only downside.

Great place to take the kids. There are lots of smaller parks inside this one, so just drive around and you're sure to find one that you'll like.

The "new" pool is awful and the staff is rude and resiculious. My daughter who is 8 and on a competitive swim team tried to take the swim fest but was too late by about 30 seconds so they made her wait 30 minutes till the next time to test. I had never heard of such a thing. So when it came to test she failed it...apparently my daughter who competes in swimming and can swim a cool 100 free back or breast wasn't a strong enough swimmer. I call BS, the life guard has a serious power struggle and failed all of the younger kids who didn't have parents standing beside them...mind you these were all kids on the same swim team. Their "safety rules" are out of hand, how about you let the kids have fun and make the life guards do their jobs instead of standing around or sitting in the life guard stands talking to their friends instead of watching the pool. We seriously watched one life guard sit and talk with his friends head turned away from the pool in the seated lifeguard stand for 20 minutes. We won't ever go back and I plan on talking with the swim team board about never having the banquet there again. Awful experience, awful staff, and awful pool surrounding. Muscatine or Rock Island have better pools than this.
