Scotsman's Hill

Grassy park area with benches and amazing views of Calgary. Stairs go down the hill to a bike and walking path near the Elbow River. The path, stairs, and hill are accessible during the Stampede if you exit on the North end of Elbow River camp by the big metal teepee. Worth the walk for the views.

Minus the mosquitoes that were on a rampage, the place is peaceful and very beautiful. A good scenic spot to just sit and take in the beauty of downtown Calgary and it's skyline. Not much of a walking stretch and easy to reach with transit. Mesmerising late in the evening as the sun sets across and the city lights up at night. Definitely worth a visit..

Amazing place to watch a sunset, but it is a very bright area just before sunset. Great view of the city, and there are some great small trails below the hill to explore while waiting for the sunset. A bus I forget which route goes from downtown and has a stop right near the hill, so it is pretty accessible.

This is the spot to be at if you wanna see the skyline of Calgary as it’s very easy to access with ample parking space! As a tourist, this was a must visit for us and we loved walking around the area during day time and at night. I think it’s a perfect spot to have picnics during summer. You can take the stairs to go down the hill as well. We weren’t able to catch any sunset as it was very cloudy on the day we visited but I can imagine that sunset would be spectacular from this lookout

Very scenic spot with a great overview of DT Calgary. Great for watching fireworks, but bring lots of bug spray

Amazing spot to see the fireworks, and if you hop the fence you can have a great view near the hill. There is also a hole along the gate for easier access!

Breathtaking sunset view. Quite and peaceful area to relax. Nice park for children and dogs.

Very scenic a beautiful. Great views of the entire downtown and the mountains.

This is one of the cool spots in Calgary to get fantastic skyline shots. If you get there at sunrise or sunset, then you’ll be rewarded!
