The iconic Saddledome built for the Calgary 1988 Olympics plays host to daily events such as the Calgary Flames or Calgary Wranglers and is an incredible venue. We got a lucky private tour after the game by a venue staff who informed us that the Saddledome is the only venue in the world owing to its incredible design that allows for completed line of sight of the playing arena, something that Madison Sqaure Garden can't even achieve.nnQuite sad to hear that they will be demolishing the venue soon.
This venue has been here for decades. It’s been an important and iconic building ingrained into to the culture of Calgary. But I recently learned that a new venue is going to be built next to it and therefore demolished there after. Kind of sad really but that is life. We have to keep building destroying and building. In any case it’s a nice looking venue.
A disappointment, we got to the venue it was mismanaged, prices where we'll ok i know things are expensive but really just about 9$ for a slice of pizza 73, 15$ for a coolers beer, wow I now know why your province thinks its an unfair world.nnThe sound quality of apocalyptica was a 5, I am going to assume it will get worse, and yes I can compare them to the other 12 times seeing them.....nnLindsay sterling was great except for the sound, like maybe some proper techs?nMaybe check with me next time during a sound check because you butchered this young ladies set.nnWhy are there not the same sound problems with halestorm???? Hmmm seems like you intentionally messed with Lindsay's quality.....
The upper seats are actually great with a nice view so no issues there. But there are two big screens that don’t work, they’re just bright blue the entire time. According to the people sitting around me they haven’t worked for years. It’s super distracting and adds to the overall neglected feel of the place. On top of that there are so many empty seats down by the rink which really kills the energy. Why not move the fans who are actually passionate about the Flames down closer to give the team some real support? The whole experience feels like it’s running on autopilot.
