I've been dealing with scotia bank for 50 years. Then they decided they need to surpass making 8 BILLION a year because of greedy CEO's. So they close banks in smaller communities, taking jobs away, leaving customers high and dry.nDeer Lake NL had good service. They close it and give us a bank machine at a grocery store that's always out of order. Thanks Scotia Bank, you are trash.
My 83 year mother in law and wife went to the corner brook branch to pick up cash. Last week weather was so bad, this was first opportunity to get her to bank. After getting her to the door at 3:30 she was told it was digital hour so she could not got to a teller for service.if she wanted to wait 25 minutes they could serve her. She has never used a banking machine. If this is service to seniors there is some learning required. Fortunately she had an account at BMO. Will come back another day to close out accounts.
WORST bank I have ever dealt with.. the manager is useless and cannot understand simple requests.. after numerous arguments.. he closed my account right after I filed a complaint against him.. 55 year old account gone because the manager is an idiot... cant wait til my mortgage is paid off and to be done with this useless bunch.. 5 more months...
The teller was very friendly and helpful and showed a true sense that she cared. My mom's mobility is not good, so the teller suggested that I bring a chair to the bank kiosk. The biggest problem though is that we were not able to do what we traveled there to do. Although, we called in adance and talked to someone on Scotiabank national number and told us that we could do everything we needed and told us what documents and ID to bring. It was very difficult for my mom to make it there and they couldn't do anything she needed done. She was very tired and very upset.
Customer service at this branch is quite exceptional. The service that I have received in my short time at this bank has been a breathe of fresh air. I recommend it to most. The atm is a bit wonky though as noted in other reviews.
