Came from Moncton to see stars on ice - overall the arena is older but not bad, the seats were comfortable but quite tight, food/beer were par for the course i.e. expensive, and not great quality - but they do the trick. I do wonder when arenas will catch up with the craft beer trend.... It's directly connected to a few hotels, which is very convenient if you're coming from out of town.
Great venue for hockey and other sports. Only rating 3 stars because I consistently encounter a poor attitude and appearance of power tripping from the ushers. Most are friendly however others can be very arrogant and it takes away from the fun atmosphere.
Absolutely amazing venue for a concert. I’ve seen blue rodeo and the offspring there recently and they were both amazing shows. Parking is also half decent, organized and easy to get in and out of. Back up is a little long at night but it is to be expected when there is a good show that brings a crowd. Should have more validation machines though. That would also help cut down on some of the backlog.
Been going here for over 11 years, few hockey games but mostly Rock and County concerts. All ways a good time, good work to the sound guys and lighting crew for the concerts A1! I visit for atleast 6 concerts a year! Nice staff all around from the door people, security, first aid and the bar tenders! Been here on completely sold out events with thousands of people and they pull it off every time!!!
Metro Centre has always been great, but World Juniors made it legendary. Bedard scored one of most famous goals in Canada history here. Saw Can/USA two days later, better game and atmosphere than all eight NHL games I've attended combined. Wild party. Wish I was born sooner so I could have seen a Rush concert here
I love having a large venue downtown to bring all kinds of entertainment to Nova Scotia! The space needs to be more prepared for sold out shows. The lines circled the block and were complete chaos. They moved quickly but at the expense of the elderly lady attendant getting trampled. Some ropes might be useful. As the hoards got her she screamed “they just overcame me what could I have done. They had keys in their fingers”. Great show though.
Haven't been here since it was still the Metro Centre. The seats have cupholders now! And they're a lot more comfortable too. Otherwise pretty much exactly how I remember it, which is perfectly fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Nice to see the security metal detectors at all entrances to the arena. Long line up and only 2 of the four metal detectors manned. Why is that? Does the Scotia Center want to make the season ticket holders wait for no valid reasons. Hire more security personnel to man the access points or remove the detectors it's that simple.
The website was awful today. There is no queue.. Tried getting early tickets as a specific credit card holder and unable to get seats.. singles only. The next day tried at the exact opening time to get presale tickets. No luck. I needed the max of 8 and couldn't even get 2. Tried calling and not taking calls for help. Very unfortunate for people who even have no computer access. Do better Scotiabank Center. Would've been a nice way to celebrate my birthday.. no such luck.
It is a very good place for events. I went with my family to a hockey game the family atmosphere. I liked it, they sell beer and food.
